I'm reading up right now on that Audioengine product that Kal mentioned.

I'm trying to avoid products like Squeezebox. I don't want anything that will 'think' and try to process any display or anything like that. Just this:
Laptop-->usb audio device/transmitter<------(wireless)----->RCA audio device-->stereo.
Any thinking or searching through my files is doing more than just processing the audio. Just output my audio, and whatever I output, play it over my stereo. If it has its own remote, it's processing something other than just transmitting my audio signal to my stereo. I'm just looking for something very simple.

Logitech had a system for this before the Squeezebox brand that you can still find for sale on the Internet. It uses bluetooth for transmission while the newer Squeezebox is 802.11. There will probably be several products in the near future utilizing the newer ultra-wideband technology for this.

How to transfer laptop audio wirelessly to stereo rca jacks?
I tried googling some products for what I'm looking for, but it's all crowded with smart devices that stream music, find your library, etc, etc...
What I'm looking for is something simple. I often sit down on the bed and use my laptop. I have my little bedroom stereo playing some CDs. I already have some CD's ripped on my laptop. Be it mp3, FLAC, whatever... I'm trying to find some little usb device that will plug into my laptop, require no additional power from, and wirelessly transmit my audio signal to something that will output RCA jacks and hookup to my bedroom stereo. Is there something like that? I don't need a remote, I don't need for it to look for anything. I just want to be able to, when I choose to, plug in this device to my laptop, play some music, and have it play on my stereo.
Any one know of anything like that?Tags: None
