If you guys have any other sugg in the 2000.00$ or less range than don`t be shy.... this is for my buddy and he wants to buy it within the next couple of weeks...
I think if I was gonna go a Sanyo, I'd tell him to scrape together another 800ish and get a Z2. That's a real crowd pleaser.
I think the Panny will be a pretty nice projector. If he needs to run it in daylight though, he may need to look for a bit more lumens. However, the Lumens is not always a true indicator of brightness anyway. Read a review or two, that's a good place to start.

Unless you had a problem with DLP projectors, I'd choose the InFocus X1 instead. It costs a couple hundred (Canadian) more, but you get better light output, much better contrast, better blacks, and comparable resolution.
