Did anybody download Camel Toe MP3 or did it get lost in the pictures
that gummed up the works??
I downloaded that. It was educational. :>) (It included some synonyms I had never before associated with the subject of the song.) :>)

Hey Guys! :later:
Trev, I know you said it sounded SWEET, but it's an inline 6, not a V-6 :wedgie: ;)
How did you know I got my laptop today? I/m setting it up right now. I just had to watch the Toronto Route first
This .17mm pitch screen at 1920x1200 sure is sweet. After looking at text on it, text on the Sony 21" tends to be a bit coaurse at times. Some fonts on web pages just look terrible though the LCD.. LCD, ya gotta love'em to hate'em

Burke! I would have to agree about Camel Toe.
In fact I had no idea what that was until I listened to the
MP3..Funny stuff!!
Bing,,great review of the Dell8500.
I knew you would get it today, since you said last week it was shipped.
I sure am anxious to see some pics of that sweet machine..
V-6 or inline 6 ..What's the difference.
We will have to head down to Bema and conduct some tire kicking,,
that would drive Harvey crazy.
Imagine taking a Mini Cooper for a joy ride..We would have that thing pooched in no time!!

Lex,,That's a tonne of miles..
You have driven it well,,making it worth owning.

Since I am still learning to drive the stick,,I'll probably burn out the clutch or tranny, whichever comes first..:E
Bummer on the Leafs lose to the Flyers..
Philly does have a good team,,just to bad it was a blow-out
for game 7. Another triple OT would have been appropriate.
Hope the Canuks can handle the Blues..2-1 in the second for Vancouver.

The 1920x1200 WUXGA resolution is just perfect for this monitor, I couldn't use a coarser resolution.
The reviews that stated the keyboard was springy??? They weren't lying, it's a freeking trampoline man! It's not bad on the left side of the board, but on the right side with the DVD/CDR drive cavity... it's unreal
I'm happy Dell included the IBM type pointer stick as I'm use to using this on my corporate IBM. It's nice to have both options.
Anyway, I'll post a review up in Tower Of power in a few days.

Andrew, I don't know who to pull for now in the playoffs. Detroit was my main team but they were bombed out by the Disney Ducks. The second team I was pulling for was the Leafs, but I should have known better. Well, maybe I pull for Dallas. I've always liked Mike Modano.

I like the sens..I spent 8 years in Brandon watching the wheat kings play there (WHL) so I got to see Redden and Shaffer as kids playing in the minors. There's been a lot of great players come though the wheat king line up and tickets were cheap...I miss going to those games. Kevin: Congrats on the raise! :D Thanks, but you have to use the term "raise" rather loosely. :roll:Our other little one in the oven is due Nov. 3rd...You have my pity, er, congratulations, er, whatever! :??
Well, you know how I mentioned about maybe getting a new toy in an earlier post, well, I just returned from the mall, with a brand... spanking... shiny... new...
NOTHING! Haha, gotcha guys!
With my recent "raise," I was checking out cell phones again. I went to the mall and walked past the Verizon Wireless kiosk, hesitated for a moment, then walked on. I just can't bring myself to do it. I dunno, I just feel like I'd be selling my soul if I sign on the dotted line. Like I'm going to be one of "them" afterward. Sure a cell would be useful at times, but somehow I've managed to survive 36 plus years without one.
Besides, Heather would kill me if I got one. Or worse yet, she'll want one for her own! 8O
So no new toys for me. Oh well, back to pretending to work for a while... later folks... KJP

Kevin - it may not look like much to you, but your raise is right smack dab in the middle of what IT professionals have been getting and are expected to get this year according to an article I've just been reading about the IT job market and wage expectations for 2003.
... The annual base salary increase budgeted for IT professionals is averaging between 4 to 6 percent, ranging from no increase to a high of 10 percent. These percentages are comparable to last year's numbers, even when demand exceeded supply. ...
So a five per cent increase doesn't sound all that bad, particularly given everything else you've told us about that company ... at least that represents something more coming in each month, instead of nothing.
Burke
Andrew Pratt
04-23-2003, 02:01 PM
5% is much better then what we get annually unless you actually get a real raise and not just adjustment for inflation etc. Luckily for me I've had too rather healthy raises the last two years to bring me up to what the other peons were getting

Kevin P
04-23-2003, 02:02 PM
You're right Burke, it doesn't look like much when I see how much (little) extra it puts in my pocket each month, but hey it's twice the raise I got a year ago, and the year before I got no raise at all. The issue is that we're underpaid and they keep promising "salary adjustments" and then we just get a piddly raise if anything instead.
And despite what my PHB said, I'm still not convinced of my job security. Maybe in a couple months I'll feel differently, and maybe then I can start buying things again. But I've also been tossing around the idea of keeping the spending freeze in place till the end of the year, since it's been doing wonders for my bank account (aka the Florida Fund) ;)
After a year of being "good", and even going to the mall and not buying anything, maybe I can give Trev some lessons!

We allegedly have a hockey team here in Houston but I've never seen them play except on TV, and that could be from anywhere. :>) But believe it or not, we do have public ice skating rinks here, sometimes even outdoors (for a day or two if it gets REALLY cold). :>) I haven't really followed hockey since I left Philadelphia, where they are almost as excited about the sport as some of you Canadians seem to be. :>)
Burke
PS -- hockey is really big in Minnesota, where I grew up, but that state is basically one big sheet of ice from about November until May, (which I realize is a short winter for you folks even further north), :>) so there's no problem finding a place to play the game. :>)

Kev, ASL makes some nice stuff. Good choice if you go with that one.Wishful thinking... my raise wasn't THAT big! 8OTrevor, good luck with the inventory! $100K in losses is good? 8OScary. That's more than my house cost, and way more than I make in a year. If $100K is good, what's average? Maybe Trev can send me the difference? :twisted:We're trying to get the close on the Orcas Island house done on the 29th. Oh man, I'm sooo stressed right now - but in a good way.Good luck! It's a lot of fun... well except for the forking over huge gobs of money part... 8O

Howdy Ladies and Germs!
So my wife and I are talking the other day about how it would be a good idea to fix up low spots in the yard and the back-lane so that water doesn't stand and contribute to the mosquito problem (and west nile I guess) thus doing "our little part". Since the city has no interest in filling the low spots in the back lane I thought I'd take the intitiative. Remember, we were just talking about it.
Then I get a call at 2:30 in the aft from my wife saying guess what? She has a friend who works at Reimers soils and got us contractor's price less $10. Great I said, "where'd they put it" Oh they dumped all 3yard of soil and the 1 yard of playground sand in the back lane 8O .... "Aye Carumba" I said (actually it was more expletive and deletive) . I felt like Homer and the sugar episode. Seems that poeple are always in the backlane taking peoples garbarge. I think what they're really doing is collecting stuff through the week for their weekend garage sale. That said I could only imagine what would happen when they come along 3 yards of "free" soil. So I got home at 5 and didn't come in till 11:00 working by candlelight. Moved 21/2 yards in the places I wanted and the 1/2 yard of playground sand for the sandbox....No idea what they hell I'm going to do with the other 1/2 yard of sand. So I left a 1/2 yard of soil and a 1/2 yard of sand in the back. Sore as hell but a little more secure.
That's it from the 'Peg.

Lovely day here in the great Northeast.
Andrew I misread your earlier post about the Sens. I never really followed the team so I don't know the players. Well, now that Vancouver is good to go, I can pull for them and/or Dallas. But the games are much too late at night when played in Vancouver, so I will get most of my info from the sports broadcasts. I will watch a few of the Ottawa/Philadelphia games out of curiosity.

Hello boys and girls. What a hectic week it has been. Tonight is no better, HOA meeting. It took almost 2 days just to catch up on voicemails. so much has happened around here since last week it'll be hard to catch up.
Kevin - Congrats on your raise. You need to be extremely thankful. I haven't even had a cost of living raise in 3 years. MMmmm nice tube amp

I dunno Pratt...everytime I re-visit old code I always suffer from "What the hell was I smoking when I wrote that???" syndrome
Either that or you get those goods days when you code the crap out of something and then come back to it and realize that you were on some elevated plane where all the hemispheres were talking and all the neurons were firing and your not quite sure how you did that nor do you quite understand what you wrote. It takes 3 days to unravel what you banged off in 1. Could also be that Custom Culture has a warehouse right next door (local supplier of Bongs...and *ahem* other "exotic" glassware and the like) and the incense they are burning is stronger than usual
My Dell M992 showed up today...nice monitor...very short gun so it fit quite nicely where my old one was...not very heavy either (for a 19).

Glad everyone enjoyed the "Flip". I wondered if anyone would remember Flip Wilson, since he has been dead for several years and the peak of his popularity as a comedian was long before that. But despite the passage of time, some of his "trademark" phrases have still been in use by a lot of people. In particular, WYSIWYG got a second life with the advent of graphical user interfaces -- which is appropriate since some of his stand up routines were pretty graphic. :>)
isn't there an ice rink in a mall there too?
Yes -- the Galleria has a fairly large commercial ice skating rink at its lower level with an atrium-type space above it extending four stories up to a skylight roof. Shops face it on that level and on two other floors opening onto balconies overlooking the rink. (The top-most floor has a health club with an indoor jogging track.)
Also I can never see the comic strips
Sometimes the comics don't show up for me when I come back to a page until I hit "refresh". If that doesn't do it, you might have to get the URL by "editing" my post and copying, or right clicking the square with the "X" which I assume shows up instead of the strip and copying from the Properties box, and then pasting the URL into the Address input box for a browser window.

I goofed when I told you guys Nicole is due in November, it's actually December 4th...not Nov. 3rd like I said earlier...so we'll definately have an 'extra' present for Christmas! :D Nicole is really much more sick this time around so weez thinks it's a girl...for she wasn't really sick when little Andrew.
Speaking of Andrew, was Glenda "sick" with Lauren? How is the little one doing?
Nothing much new to report, other then I was playing around last night adding my old Klipsch subwoofer to the theater room (put it on the back riser) to see how that affected things! Good googly moogly...it really helped shake and performance in the back row and raised the SPL in the room...gonna have to play around some more and recalibrate if I end up keeping it back there...way to loud! 8O

According to an article in today's Houston Chronicle, most hearing loss goes untreated. And most hearing loss is due to noise, including overly loud music, not organic conditions.
http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/printstory.hts/health/1869283
As people interested in high quality sound reproduction, it seems logical that we would also be concerned about preserving our hearing so we can continue to enjoy our hobby to a ripe old age.
If the sound hurts your ears, it is probably damaging your hearing. And once damaged, at least some of the loss is permanent, so hearing loss prevention through proper ear protection when unavoidably exposed to very loud sounds and enjoying our music at sane sound levels is better than being sorry (and deaf) later on.

Thanks Burke! Well, timing isn't always everything. I had an opportunity with the trade in program that lasted until May 15. After that, all bets are off. I started out looking at a new MC-8B (XLR version). Truthfully, it never even dawned on me that I could get the MC-12 for close to the same price as the MC-8. Yeah, I sacrificed XLR inputs. But sometimes, you go with what you think is the better decision, and to me, the better DACs, and most robust upgrade path available made more sense. The MC-12 has 3 expansion card slots in it, does AES-EBU, analog pass through and more. So, I went for it.

Burke, interesting info on hearing loss. That's why I use hearing protection at concerts and when mowing the lawn and weed whacking. I also don't tend to play my music as loud as I did in my younger, more naive days.. ;)
Well, I was at my customer's until 10 installing her new PC. Figures she'd get another Compaq Presario, this one with a 1.8Ghz Athlon XP. I made sure the heat sink is secure on this one ;) and it seems to run pretty well. I also transferred the 60GB hard drive out of her old Presario into the new one so now they have 140 GB total, plus anything saved on the old machine is accessible. Since she was going to toss the old machine out anyway I salvaged some parts out of it--DVD drive, CD-RW, floppy, 128 MB DIMM, modem, NIC, things like that. I can use the DVD drive in my machine since mine won't read DVDs anymore. :) So it went well and I made a few bucks in the process.
I think that's it for right now... later folks, KJP

David -- just think of it this way... if you had gotten the flip, you would have already seen the Washington cabin pictures you were going to post, but this way you get to be exposed to original works of art that you might have otherwise missed. :>)

hate to say it but I believe the pics legit....
Well, the pic might show something that is actually real, but that doesn't make it "legit". ;>) I agree with Kevin about the likelyhood of them being faked in the photo, especially given the site name. But if they are silicon, then even if they are "real", they are fake. :>) I also agree that, either way, real or fake, they are WAYYY too much of what would otherwise be a good thing... not attractive at all, just a curiosity... a carnival sideshow freak.
However, if they are real, I wonder if she works as an exotic dancer or some "profession" where ludicrous boobs would help make someone some money? I once saw a show where the lead dancer had a 52" bust line -- they even had someone from the audience come up on stage and measure it with a tape measure. :>) The wife of one of my coworkers at the time was a credit rep at a local store where the dancer was a customer, so she could confirm that the lady on stage was a real case of "what you see is what you get" (the bust was apparently not a strap-on prosthetic, since she was as "big" in the store as she was on stage) -- and that the performer was not the one getting rich off of the big ones.

Well I only glanced at the pic for a second (I'm at work) so I couldn't do much of an analysis beyond my initial impression that the laws of physics would make that pose impossible, silicone or not. Maybe at normal sizes silicone doesn't sag, but dang, those things likely have their own gravitational field! :E They would have to have a steel understructure welded to her rib cage to not sag. 8O I wonder if a magnet will stick to them.

That site where you found Ms. Basketball Boobs has a lot of other tasteful stuff, too, :>) like the following joke titled "Meeting The Ma":
A young Irish lad had fallen in love with a girl and felt the relationship had gone far enough to take her home to meet his family.
So, one fine Sunday evening the lad, his lady friend and the rest of the family (17 or so people) were gathered around the dining room table.
The matriarch or the family asked the girlfriend, "So, tell me, lass, what is your occupation?"
The girl hesitated and said, "Well, Mrs. O'Malley, I'm a prostitute."
Immediately the lad's mother fainted and was surrounded by a dozen family members who splashed her face with water. Finally, she regained consciousness, returned to her seat. Soon, the family calmed down and resumed the meal.
At that point, the mother asked again, "Forgive me, dearie. I don't think I heard you correctly.... what is your occupation?"
Again the girl answered, "Mrs. O'Malley, I'm a prostitute."
The mother laughed and said, "Oh my, dearie, for a moment there I thought you said you were a Protestant!"
--------------------------------------------------------------------
They also had this one titled: "Girlfriends"
When I was 14, I hoped that one day I would have a girlfriend.
When I was 16 I got a girlfriend, but there was no passion. So I decided I needed a passionate girl with a zest for life.
In college I dated a passionate girl, but she was too emotional. Everything was an emergency; she was a drama queen, cried all the time and threatened suicide. So I decided I needed a girl with stability.
When I was 25 I found a very stable girl but she was boring. She was totally predictable and never got excited about anything. Life became so dull that I decided that I needed a girl with some excitement.
When I was 28 I found an exciting girl, but I couldn't keep up with her. She rushed from one thing to another, never settling on anything. She did mad impetuous things and made me miserable as often as happy. She was great fun initially and very energetic, but directionless. So I decided to find a girl with some real ambition.
When I turned 31, I found a smart ambitious girl with her feet planted firmly on the ground and married her. She was so ambitious that she divorced me and took everything I owned.
I am now 40 and am looking for a girl with big breasts.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Ahem -- I think we've already seen a picture of the girl that fellow is looking for... :>)
Needless to say, I now have the site bookmarked. :>)
Burke
PS -- Eduardo -- I have a feeling that photo is going to end up filling more than just HALF the page. :>)

David -- I like the balloons that Christina is holding a lot better than the crime-against-nature globes we saw on the last page. :>)
Kev -- just what I've always wanted my CD-Rs to be -- "cute". :>) I'm kind of concerned that they're Verbatim -- I've always had bad luck with their recording media (although I've never tried their CD-Rs, so maybe those are OK). Besides, I own a few shares of Imation -- very few -- so I'd be more inclined to buy those as a matter of principal (intentional spelling). :>) But I like the idea -- it would be fun to spin those at parties -- in fact your DJ gigs might well be a perfect place to show those off!
Andrew -- thanks for sharing that WIDE map of the earthquake zone. I guess I'm going to have to get a 16:9 computer monitor to display all the BIG stuff we've been seeing here recently. :>)
Hey Trev -- That joke's a classic -- soon to be repeated all over the Internet! While, of course, that is an over-generalizing stereotype of men, (since some of us wouldn't be caught dead near a can of beer as long as kegs are available), :>) practically every female of my acquaintence has a phone embedded in her ear. :>)

Well, getting closer to pressing Submit on the Dell. The new deals are out...free processor upgrade. So, I can get the same system I was planning to last week at the same price, but with a faster processor. :)
Just got to go to Futile Shop tomorrow, and check out a 1600x1200 laptop. I've gotta see if I could handle the UXGA, or if I should play it safe with the SXGA+.
Trev...I had asked earlier, but it got lost through all the flips...whatever happened to your Tosh RPTV? Did you get it fixed?
Massive price drops on the Toshiba sets this past week. $1200 cut from the price of their 65" wide models. Its kinda scary, you can now get the top-line 57" for $3299, which is less than what I paid for mine - and I got mine at 10% below cost. 8O

Jeff!!
Sounds like free shipping , Processor and lots of $$$ off too..
I am going to have to reconfigure mine to see what I missed out on.
My RPTV is working fine. It was fixed in January.
No parts were needed..Just had to reconverge the unit.
This was done by the 64 point grid in the service menu.
It took the technition about two hours to do it.
Since then it has worked perfectly..
Not really sure what had happened in the first place.
Possibly a power surge.
The 65" 16:9 dropped to $3597 and I want one.
Mine is for sale for $1800 if anybody is interested.

Jeff. get the SXGA screen. Based on what I know of you, I know you will not like the UXGA screen. The text is on the small size, however I can deal with it. Trev is absolutely goining to hate it! :smackbutt: I however kinda like it  The keyboard is absolutely "Orrable" I mean I love the Dell 8500 and all (I have no choice now) but i would look long and hard at a Toshiba or Compaq over this one.
Where is everyone today?

Question though,,That's the highest res,,Can't it be lowered to 1600x1200??etcc..
Trev, it's native resolution is 1920x1200 or the same as 1600x1200. That's where the problem lies in that if the resolution is to fine (small) for you, then the screen must interpolate any resolution other than the native resolution. So if you set it to 1280x1024 (1680x1050 on the widescreen) then thats where images and text can start to look blocky, soft or fuzzy. Intepolation is never good, but with a LCD monitor it is a nessesary evil.
Trust me you don't want to set the WUXGA (1920x1200) screen to WSXGA (1680x1050) resolutions, the text is fuzzy. The WUXGA dell come from the factory with the font DPI set to 120% of 96DPI, this make images in Internet Explore all jaggie and in my opinon not worth it for everyting looks like crap in IE then. I set it back to 96DPI and it fixes that, although the text is smaller, it stillis resolvable on the fine pitch screen, just as I expected 8O
Ha, Trev is looking for a new TV??? When I met him in the computer store he was giving me some song N dance about how he's done spending :blah: :blah: :blah: I just laughed at him...

Howdy folks! Well with all your resolution talk and the fact that this TTP page was widescreen at 1024x768, I bumped my resolution up to 1280x960 and switched W2K to large fonts. I don't know if I like it as well though, the text is a little fuzzy and I get ringing in the borders around the reply text box, etc. Could that be my cable? Maybe Lex needs to make VGA cables :) I'll keep it like this for a while and if it bothers my eyes too much I'll switch it back. I guess I need a better monitor... my laptop runs at 1400x1050 and it looks wonderful at that res.
Update: I switched to 1152x864, small fonts. More readable on my old crap monitor. Oh yeah I switched to 85hz refresh too. :)

Cool Andrew, it could be alsot you have a good wireless PCMCIA Card for your range will be determined by that as well. That's one Killer price for a wireless router :yesnod:
Say how is your 5100 for DVD playback on battery power? I find the 8500 a bit laggy /studdery at times on battery power during play back. As soon as you plug in the AC power it smooths right out. I never experienced this with my 733Mhz Corporate IBM on battery.
Bing
Difference in power required to cool higher mHz CPUs could be the difference, as obviously, there are strict power supply issues in a laptop.
Sounds like I knew what I saw saying anyway, huh? ;)
Thanks Bing, and Trevor on my new MC-12 too. :) So far, the audio experience has been all one could hope for. I watched Terminator 2 DTS-ES last night. Pretty impressive stuff!

Well, just got back from my expedition at Future Shop. Played around with a Toshiba UXGA laptop. I wanted to see exactly what 1600x1200 would be like - essentially the same res. I'd get on the 8500 UXGA, though it would be wider.
Anyway, I was surprised. I actually liked it. Yes, the text was small, but damn it was sharp! That made it completely legible. I was even able to read it without strain when I stood back a bit. I was very impressed. In fact, now that I am looking at my 1024x768 display - text seems ridiculously huge!! :)
My previous experience with 1600x1200 was on CRT monitors...and it looked like crap. The text was way too soft and blurry. Granted, this was on a $300 Samsung, though even my old $700 Sony couldn't do it. I think if you want that kind of res. on CRT, you have to Schell out ( ;) ) the big bucks for those top-flight Sony monitors. I think most pedestrian CRTs won't be much useful past 1280x1024.
So, I think the UXGA will be ok for me. I'll think about it some more. Granted the screen on the 8500 will be a bit smaller than the 15" 4:3 I saw, but I still think it will be ok. We'll see. This is the final decision...I want to press that Submit button tonight. :)

Check your Intel Speedstep settings. Chances are it's running the CPU slower on battery power than on AC to extend battery life. For example, my 4100 runs at 1 gig when plugged in and 700 Mhz when on battery.

I DID IT
Never have I agonized so much over a purchase, and I still don't know if I did the right thing. But, I pushed SUBMIT on the Dell. Here's the configuration of my 8500:
2.2Ghz (free upgrade from 2.0)
15" UXGA Screen
nVidia 64 Mb GeForce 4200 Go
8x DVD
40 Gb HDD
256 Mb RAM
Internal Wireless
3 Year OnSite/CompleteCare Warranty
At the last minute I decided to go with the base 8x DVD drive and use the savings towards the CompleteCare warranty. I will eventually get an external burner. I don't burn CDs that often, so it won't be a problem. I also have little faith in a drive that purports to do everything.
So now I guess its a waiting game. But Dudes, I'm gettin' a DELL! :)

Don't know what happened, my config came to $3370 taxes in.

Duude, your getting a Dell!! (think that line will ever get old around here? )
I know how you feel, I toiled over what I wanted and needed as well and question if I was buying the right one. It's hard for us commoners to spend that much money on something you haven't seen or touched.... It's not like we buy these every other day :wedgie:
Trev, how long do you leave it for before start lag occurs?
http://www.thinkgeek.com/images/products/zoom/mx700.jpg
I ask because my MX700 will go into a sleep hibernation mode if I leave it for more than say 30mins. Upon waking it, it only takes 1/2 second and then it's back up and running. Perfectly acceptable for it must do this to conserve battery power. Just as long as it does not lag during operation, that's good. It actually looks more like your old MS wireless mouse, rather than the slimmer wired Optical MS one you were using... Can you confirm this?
Yes I have, it was the first thing I did :) it's at 512Mb which is enough and the price was right $37. It's an easy operation as the i8500 has a door to access the memory.
Andrew, nice picture of Lauren, she's a little person already :smootch:

Trev, the Dell RAM is CAS 2 and the Crucial is CAS 2.5. I'm using both the Nanya (Dell) and Crucial RAM.
Nice Blue Trev, bet it looks good with Blue Zone... What's with the blue tooth base? I thought that module would just plug into a USB port. Or is that some extended USB port where the TX/RX can easily be removed from?
Bing
Trevor Schell
04-27-2003, 09:02 PM
What you said about the base is correct.
There is another attachemnt for use with a notebook computer.
The CAS 2 rating definately explains the high price of the memory as those chips are rather rare.
My invoice shows a charge of $800 for the 512MB memory.
Never heard of Nanya before?

Trev! Cool blue mouse! We've got wireless keyboards/mice at work...they are Logitech I think. I don't really care for them that much. Been pretty happy with my MS optical...though sometimes when I am doing graphics work it isn't as precise as the old mouse balls. If I need to grab on to a certain pixel, it always misses it.
Well, ordered the Dell but still haven't got the confirmation email. I got the first email, but not the second, order verification. They better not come back to me and say its invalid or something. How long did it take you guys to get your second mail? For our 5100, it came one minute after the first!

Jeff, it may be because of the week end... I pressed submit on a Saturday Evning and did not get confirmation until Monday. But then of course Trev may have intercepted you order packet :)
The earlier Logitech wireless mice were very bad with lots of lag, then they imporved them to the point where the MX700 is the top rated wireless mouse to date. It has a 800DPI sensor that processes 4.70mega pixels/sec. It also has a 10G acceleration rate so rapid movement of the mouse does not cause the optical camera to lose tracking, like my Microsoft Explorer optical will if you quickly jerk it to one side or the other. The MX700 is the Gamers top chioce for wireless mouse for it accuracy and precision. The down side is it chews through batteries very quickly with it's all it's constant processing, that why a docking/charging station is included. I charge it every 4 -5 days if I don't place it back into the docking station. My buddy Cam who has an older Logitech wireless mouse changes his batteries every 4 months, but it does not have near the precision of the MX700.
I wish Logitech would make a smaller travel version of the MX700 for Notebooks, I would certainly own one.

When I came into work this morning and logged into Lotus Notes to check my email, I was amused by the amount of spam that slipped through the "corporate" spam filter. I had to take a screen shot and post for all to see. Apologies if this goes widescreen, if it does I'll change to a link:

What's funny Lex is I created a "spam filter" using Notes agents a few years ago, and more recently corporate instituted a spam filter, and I think they must work the same way, because 95% of the spam I get now gets past my filter (naturally after it got past theirs).
I need to create my spam filter. It's not going to happen until after I'm laid off though, if I am. Still no clues as to my ultimate fate around here.
I haven't gotten a virus in over 2 months now, unless you count Heather getting stomach flu! It's been quiet when it comes to email worms anyway. What did you get over the weekend? Geek curious... :)

Hello everyone. Its been a rough Monday already. Allison's moms best friend died this morning. Its hitting Allison pretty hard. :( Before I go any further heres a joke to make everyone smile.
Why I am Tired..........
For a couple years I've been blaming it on lack of sleep, not enough
sunshine, too much pressure from my job, earwax buildup, poor blood or
anything else I could think of. But now I found out the real reason:
I'm tired because I'm overworked.
Here's why:
The population of this country is 273 million. 140 million are retired.
That leaves 133 million to do the work.
There are 85 million in school, which leaves 48 million to do the work.
Of this there are 29 million employed by the federal government,
leaving 19 million to do the work.
2.8 million are in the armed forces preoccupied with killing the
Taliban.
Which leaves 16.2 million to do the work.
Take from the total the 14,800,000 people who work for state and city
governments. And that leaves 1.4 million to do the work.
At any given time there are 188,000 people in hospitals, Leaving
1,212,000 to do the work.
Now, there are 1,211,998 people in prisons. That leaves just two people
to do the work.
You and me.
And there you are sitting on your ass, at your computer, reading jokes.
Nice, real nice...

Now that I have that out of the way. What good weekend. I made a few unplanned purchases. Saturday Allison and I went to Office Max to get a new phone system for the house. While I was at the check out line I remember reading that it was "Friends and Family Day" and I asked the check girl. "How did you know", she responded in a surprising tone. I told her a fried worked at another OM so she handed me a the flyer with all the specials. The phone was on one of thier specials and they had $200 off the Olympus C-720 UZ. We needed the phones and since we don't have any camera, we bought both. The camera might go back. I read many review and you need to know how to use a camera to get the best result. I love the fact that it has an 8X optical zoom and I am please with the pictures so far. More good news was that Allison and I got our tax money back
