Panasonic NEW TAU RPTV

For the first time Panasonic has launched a new line of RPTV (HD ready) units. http://www.panasonic.ca/English/audiovideo/television/projection/pt53tw53_56tw53.asp

Gorgeous unit. looks good even when its off. However, they have made some improvements even in the service menu.

What do you think about the specs?

HEY!! Why buy movie tickets when you can own a Theater?

Good looking set Clive. I can't help but think the price, even in canadian is getting up there to the point of diminishing returns for a rear projection tv. I didnt' check the specs that close, so can't comment on that.

It's an interesting set, that's for sure Uncle. Two things I'd look at and decide how important they are to you are:1) no 720p output - that's ABC's native HD rate
2) horizontal resolution is 850 lines - for the price you may find a 1080-capable unitOther than that, I'd say it's a "contenduh".
