Guys-

Maybe you can help me. I recently got a Bravo D1 player from V Inc. to send DVD video over DVI-D at 1080i to my plasma monitor. I'm just having some occasional display problems when viewing the DVI signal at 720p or 1080i. The only resolution I can get the Bravo player to put out to the plasma over DVI-D without any problems is a SVGA 640x480.

I talk about the display problems in this thread here: http://www.htguide.com/CFBoards/index.cfm?fuseaction=Threads.viewthread&Tid=74991&Forum=41&StartRow=1&CFB=1

The Bravo has a new firmware release where you can set custom video settings over DVI-D. The problem for me is, I have NO IDEA what to put for values in the settings. I can figure out the vertical and horizontal resolutions, but that's it. The display is a 32" Philips 32FD9954, native resolution 1024 x 852.

The settings the Bravo D1 asks for in the custom menu are these:
Horizontal Frequency
Video Width
HSyncTotal
HsyncActive
VSyncTotal
VSyncActive
HSyncPolarity
Vertical Freq
Video Height
PreHSync
PostHSync
PreVSync
PostVSync
VSyncPolarity

Thanks!

Try these:

Horizontal Resolution: 1024 Pixels
Horizontal Frequency: try 51.1 Khz or 54.1 Khz
Vertical Frequency: 60 Hz
Vertical Resolution: 852 Pixels

These should match the native resolution of your plasma panel.

Leave the other values at their defaults. You may need to tweak Video Width and Video Height to adjust the picture size/overscan. I'm not sure what the HSync and VSync values do, maybe they act as offsets to adjust the position of the image on the screen (referred to as phase in techno geek terms).

If these don't work, or you want to try different resolutions or refresh rates, there is a Bandwidth Calculator here (http://www.myhometheater.homestead.com/bandwidthcalculator.html).
