I have a C2/A51 combo on order. I intend to place these units in my MidAtlantic 60"/35U rack. What are opinions for heat control/placement of components?

Am I best off putting the A51 as high as possible in the rack or would it be better to place it at the bottom (say, up two units, with a perforated blank below) with a fan unit (QFP-2) right above the A51?

I'm cross-posting this question on the AVS forum also.

Thanks in advance,

I don't have that kind of rack - I have a component cabinet with an open ventilated back where I keep a tower fan. In your case, I wouldn't suggest putting your amp at the very top, since heat rises, and the since the A51 gets very hot as it is, you want to keep it away from any additional heat. That doesn't mean you need to shove it all the way at the bottom, but in the bottom half would probably be best, along with adequate ventilation space above and possibly even below it.

I like mid pre-pro mounts because it tends to keep cables more equidistant. 1 meter tends to do most things with it in the middle.
