View Full Version : HALO amplifiers need breaking-in period?

I've read several reviews on the HALO line by now, every one positive to one degree or another, without exception. One thing I've found to be a common thread is reviewers saying that they first hooked up the Parasound HALO amplifiers, took a listen, and thought it sounded nice, but not stellar. But after a few days/weeks, the sound noticeably improved to an exceptional level.

I find this to be interesting. Is this a truly common thread? If so, what would be the physics behind this that would cause sound to be improved with initial use?

Yes its very common. I'm not sure on the physics involved (we need jon to answer that one) but it might have something to do with the large cap's in the amps...just a guess.

I've had my A51 and A21 amps (thanks to BHuskins) for about 2-3 weeks now, and I have definately noticed a warming up and sweetening of the amps sonic qualities. And I assure you it's not just my ears becoming "accustomed" to the sound.
