Here are a few pictures that I took yesterday of "Truk Lagoon" from Discovery HD. I used the "freeze" function of the L300u so that I could get clear and focused pictures. The camera was approximately 12 feet from a 92" Da-Lite Perm Wall HCCV screen. I did use a tripod with the camera this time.

The only editing done to the pictures was to crop the height down a bit:

I also created a new web page with a few pictures of my Home Theater:

Lookin' good fellow FPer. Looking at your room, it appears that the Panny's short throw lens worked great.

Hi George!

Yes, I struggled for a bit with the mounting location. I was afraid I'd hear the projector fan, but it is so quiet that it is not an issue.

I visited your website today. You have quite a media collection! Do you still watch the LDs very often?

BTW is that Andrew Pratt in the last picture? :)

Zing! :D

Pictures look good. Isn't it amazing what we watch in HD, just because it's HD and the picture is fabulous, that we would NEVER EVER watch on normal television? I would never sit and watch on normal TV a bunch of fish, nature pictures, or other things they usually show on HDnet, but I'm captivated when I watch it in HD. I mean spellbound, like you couldn't distract me or get me to turn off the TV if you tried.

Oh, doesn't the 300 max out in resolution at like 480p or something? Pretty good pictures of screen shots, still.

"The L300U features three 0.7" native widescreen LCD panels in 960x540 resolution. This is the new "1/4 HD" format, so called because the native HDTV 1080i signal of 1920x1080 can be compressed exactly 50% in both the horizontal and vertical dimensions. The advantage is that it yields a particularly clean scaling of HDTV."

Taken from Projector Central's L300u review (http://www.projectorcentral.com/panasonic_pt_l300u.htm).

The result looks fantastic. I'm very pleased with the projector, especially considering the sub $2k price.

LOL! I saw the pic and was trying to figure out why I recognized that face! After a few minutes I figured it out. :)

Sayer,
What you see is about half of what I used to have in an LD collection. They have been replaced with dvds. My PJ is very unforgiving with sources anything other than its native rate (DVD) so I will continue to replace LDs with DVDs as titles become available.

I see Andrew answered your question. Good viewing, ol' buddy.
