I'm doing something wrong!?

I must be doing something wrong, I have two settings I'm using for aspect ratios, both use a horizonal amplitude of 90...but the vertical amplitude for an enhanced movie is -35, and the vertical amplitude for a non-enhaned letterbox is +45, I think my amplitude should probably be whatever makes the grid of the "Crosshatch" pattern show squares vs what I have now, which are rectangles.
Is the answer in my software? (winDVD at this time)

This is a FYI reply, I'm sorry I can't be of any assistance regarding this issue. Also JonMarsh is currently in Germany, and as of this time doesn't have reliable internet access. He'll be there for 2 weeks.
