With my current employment success, I may soon be moving into this palatial mansion...

ahh, don't sweat it yet man, good things are gonna happen soon, I just know it!
Travel may be the quickest way out though. Take something even if you have to travel. Get a little pad built back up, then look more locally...
Goodluck man, and hang tough!

Wow, what a nice place!
Coming from I could be living in a Piano Box soon or at least Trev's new HDTV box, though I may have to wrassle him for it.

Thanks Lex, for the encouraging words. I hope you are right about something turning up soon!
"Travel" for an appropriate paying job is something I wouldn't mind... as long as that expense is reimbursed. It is when they want me to "relocate" at my own expense to a location I don't really like for an iffy "possible opportunity" of unspecified duration that I balk. Especially when I've been "screwed" by that same company before with empty promises that ended up costing me plenty in both tangible and opportunity costs.

NP Burke, we all wish you the best in your search. That's true, you do have to watch em'. I haven't ever used contracting services, but I think there are a few decent ones around. Maybe you just haven't found the right one.
