Old tv movie

I am looking for the title of a t. v. movie I had seen years ago. It is set in Australia and deals with a married couple. The wife is wealthy and her husband wants her dead. so that he can have her money and her best friend. He throws her to the aligators thinking this would solve his problem. However she survived and is helped by a Dr. who performs many surgeries to her face. She does not look the same and she goes back to settle with her husband and best friend.

I vauguely remember that movie, joanie, but I honestly can't recall the title. I felt it was more of a woman's movie but I found it interesting just the same.
