Hi,

I have just purchaed a second hand one. I have not connected it up yet but I have switched it on and the small on screen display is all strange, I was expecting to see quite a high quality image, each character on the screen is made up of a number of different colours and the screen is just legible and I can make out what each word says like Audio 2 or analogue, but the who thing resembles a frigging rainbow. Is there something wrong with the display? I have been through all 30 display option and some are slightly better but I don't think it is right, has anyone who has owned one of these expereinced this?

Hiya, Av, and welcome to the Guide and Club Parasound!

Although rare, display problems have occurred in the C1. My first C1 that arrived new, the screen didn't turn on. Sent it back, and turned out that the screen just was disconnected inside the unit. Easy. I do recall somebody else here in the Club reporting what you're talking about specifically, so you may want to search here in old posts.

If you bought it used, your first step is to talk to the seller. That isn't right.

Thanks Chris,

I assumed the display was just in a set-up mode but I should have asked the seller more deials about it, however after a 3 hour drive in the rain I just wanted to get home.. I am now in the process of downloading the latest software and all seems to be going well. I will call the UK distributor of Parasound equipment ot see if they can fix the screen under warranty as it is 3 years old. I'm not sure if the warranty is transferable on these units in the UK?

I'm quite excited about hooking it up with my 5250 amp as I'm sure it will sound better than my pioneer 2011 with my M&K speakers.

Thanks :T

As for the warranty, you sure can't beat 10 years on audio equipment. Sure doesn't hurt to talk to the UK Parasound reps on what they can do.
