New HD channels on Dish Network

Dish has a total of 25 HD channels now I was just about to switch over to Comcast cable but I'm glad I didn't. I'm waiting on my new upgraded HD receiver to come and check out the new channels. As of now the new channels are ESPN2, HD Universal and five more Voom channels. Also, I got an e-mail from dish saying that they will Have local channels in HD starting in March or April. Its been a long wait. Has anyone checked out any of the new channels launched?

No there is a new HD package altogether and the new channels only work with the new receivers that have mpeg 4 if you lease your equipment you can upgrade your receiver for 49$ or the HD DVR receiver for 299$ a promotion for existing customers.

I thinking about switching from Comcast to the Dish. We was on line but was a little confused about the packages. Which package has all the HD channels? We only need HBO & all the HD channels.

If I'm not mistaking you have to order at least the 120 package with HD pak for 59$ a month. You might want to wait until they have the Locals in HD then order. There might be a promo give them a call.

Dish has great customer service I think you will like......

Comcast just added "UNIVERSAL HD." I can't fix what broke. After doning the math, we're going to stay with Comcast.
