Threshold is one new TV show I have high hopes for. Here's a series synopsis from TV.com (http://www.tv.com)

from producers David Heyman, David Goyer, and Brannon Braga, and written by Bragi Schut, revolves around a female government contingency analyst who leads a team of scientists and military personnel who get in contact with a mysterious alien lifeform. Blade writer/director Goyer is on board to direct the Paramount Network TV pilot. He also will exec produce with Heyman, producer of the Harry Potter movies.
It premiers tonight at 8:00 PM Central on CBS.

I remember The Sci-Fi Channel had an original movie they made, called '"Threshold" .

That movie had something to do with alien invaders, in the form of parasitic bugs that latched on to the humans and controlled their minds, so the humans would do their dirty work.

I don't know if there's a connection, but let's hope CBS has commited themselves to doing a better job, that the Sci-Fi Channel's version of "Threshold".

Sci-Fi Channel has a way of coming up with some cool stories and concepts for movies, then they screw it all up with bad writers, bad scripts and bad actors.

It certainly has an interesting premise.

So, David did you get to see it?

Yeah, I saw about 90 minutes of the two-hour total. I forgot to program it into the TiVO and got home late! Can anyone fill me in on the first 30 minutes?

I did like what I saw. It's about an alien lifeform that has come to Earth, initially contacting (or attacking) a cargo vessel at sea. A US government (what else?) team is dispatched to the ship to contain the possible threat and... anyway, it's now a "season pass" on the TiVO. Production values were about what you'd expect from a TV-based show, not earth-shatteringly good but not bad by any means. The characters were interesting in their own rights with a couple of fairly formulaic members.

For now, I'll give it :25: out of :5:.

Where'd you get that? Is it an official announcement or more of a "jungle drums" thing? Phooey.
