I'm happy to say that as of friday, i put in my order for my 703's, rotel rb-1080, rc-1070, and rt-1080 :T . I had to hold off on the 1055 cd changer...i pretty much met my price max but i kinda wish i had just done it. There's still time to add it to the order and get the same discount but it's a lot of money, any thoughts out there???
I've only been looking / wishing for B&W's for the past 12 years so i'm pretty confident i did the right thing. It was a real toss up between the 703's and the 804's. After a good a/b comparison i figured i'd save the $$$.....it's just that the 804's are so damn frick'n sexy looking.
hehehe...i finally did it!!!!

CONGRATS!!! You got some really nice gear. I had the 1080, its a nice amp that drove my 805S nicely. Please keep us updated after you install everything. I am very curious to your thoughts regarding the 703s. I am contemplating getting the 803S or 703.

tboooe, why not consider the 804's?
If i had the extra money i'd do the 804's in a heart beat, the 803's for me are a bit too big but the sound whoa, nice....really nice.
what amp are you planning to use?

I just dont think the 804S is a big enough improvement to justify getting rid of my 805S. I figure I would be paying about $1000 more than I did for my 805S for only an incremental improvement. I agree the 803S are big and my current listening area is only 10 x 14 ft. But I really want to get the full bodied sound of the 803S. Isnt the 803 only a few inches wider and deeper than the 804?
For amps, I recently switched to the Parasound A21. I found it to suit my taste a little better than the 1080 did. I intend to use this same amp with the 803S. Or if money permits, the Halo JC1 mono blocks. Man, now those paired up with the 803S would fill up my entire room! There would be no room for me to sit! Lol!

On my way to where I am now, I upgraded from N805 to N804. I thought the upgrade was worth it. The 805's did not have the fullness the 804's had in my opinion.

8O :E Well i have an update...
I was gathering my $'s and noticed i had a bit more than i expected. I talked it over with the wife and we decided to either change from the 703's to the 804's (i had just placed the order on friday) OR buy the 1055 cd changer and new cables = about the same in $
I ended up buying the 804's!!! Talk about upgraditis! It didn't even see or listen to the 703's i had bought and already i've upgraded to the 804's...now that's fast!!! :E       :boobies:

Parsonsk,
You have a severe case of upgraditis...
It it continues at this reate I can see 802Ds in a year and who knows - maybe even the full blown 800D case that the most severely afflicted get....
Congrats... :T
For you the slippery slope is very steep.... :D

Good move, Parsonsk, on choosing the 804Ss over the RCD-1055. Your are going to love those bad boys! :T
