The best thing you can do at first is act like you don't care at least a little bit. You've already blown one thing, and that's seeing her every day. Give her 2 or 3 days off man, you'll both burn out at this rate, anyway. What the heck do I know, I'm so alone it hurts, lol.

Aaaah Doug, just start flirting with some of your daughters friends  :E
Nice looking 95 Paul :P
Stoney I agree. And welcome to the TTP.
Get's this will probably be my last post for a while, as internet is likley to go down in 2 hours. I have everything inside that I can....
We are going to start getting 40 plus winds for 24 plus hours! Plus 10-15 inches of rain. And the bad news is the Eye is not due for 12 hours after all that stuff is going on! 8O For those of you that watch the news I am RIGHT ON the Nuse River! Craven/Carteret Counties. ( Well 400 meters or so away from the water)! 8O
Anyways...it is going to be ruff, cause the wife has 2 compacted wisdom teeth that are infected! The doctors are worried about a blood infection. They have her on the strongest antibiotics that they have. Plus she is on some stuff that makes darveset look like candy! So she is pretty much out of it! They were suposed to do emergency surgery but the storm and the infection have caused that to be postponed.
Anyways..I hope that you all have a great day and I will talk at you all later. Well got to run, the wife is asking for some water! :T

Gregor, you have to stop smothering a person. If I'm not mistaken you may have done that to Tanya as well... Just my take on it and I could totally be off base.
Not sure about Outlook express, and what Trev is doing to you. If I forward Trev's cool emails, that attach no problems.
Welcome Stoney, although I can't say I totally agree with you, that would take a lot of fun out of young adult hood, plus its too late for me ;)

Dell called me back and told me I was getting a new laptop because based on the service calls, they think I must have got a lemon....
C:\Ya Think?
I don't know what this really means as they do not make the 8500 anymore. If they give me a refurb, I'm going to lose it. I think they should replace it with a top line model seeing as it was a top line when I bought it, and struggled with it for the last 2 years.
That maybe asking for a bit much.....

I started on a set of single bass Pearls way back in about 64-65, they were an abalone finish with chrome fittings and hardware. I still dream about those. They are still owned and played by the same person and his children and grandchildren.
But as there was only 1 set of drums and I wanted to play rthym I ended up with 4 strings and learned to be steadier then a metronome. In those days everyone except bass played with time and tempo. Until Sting came along and really threw a wrench into the rthym section. I am starting to think most time is played by machines now. (mini rant)
I actually miss playing games with my old drummer. :)
edit:Turns out it will be these in tobacco burst with sabian cymbals and black hardware

Trev, that would work.... I can't beleive you aren't having simular problems with your 8500 ;)
I actually don't know what I would take. The XPS is nice, but it's bigger than what I want for a laptop. The 6000 seems to be simular in size, but it's not really designed for graphics. They make a dedicated Graphics 6000D, however with a X300 ATI chip, I question it's power... They just might send me a refurb, which I'm not so sure I would like either. If that was the case I would have them replace the monitor as thats the only major component that has not been replaced. I just wish they would give me back my money, then I would go buy an IBM
I love drums ;b>

Sorry Bing....that actually came from Andrew I thought....I know the one though....or maybe I found that.....anyway I don't have the link any more :(
Greg....no advice other than be yourself. Don't overthink things. All you can do is be yourself at all times, that way they know the true you and what you are about. If it's meant to be, it's meant to be. If you don't like her playing the field then simply say thank you, this was fun and move on. If you like competition, then hang in there and prepare to be hurt if you're beat out. Not much more one could say.
Definitely do not play games with women. :nono:
Jim (snap), hope you are making it ok there. Hang in there, maybe the eye will miss you, we hope!
Taz, I always wanted to play guitar, but never quite found the "nack" for it. (nack/neck) I had an accoustic for a while, but hated that guitar. Heck, I even took some lessons. But I was young, and didn't have the fortitude to stick it out probably.
My Pearls are mostly now at my Mom's in her basement. I was trying to make some room at my house, and cased up even, they were taking a lot of space. They are red satin with chrome hardware. Mostly Zildian and Zilco cymbals.

Taz, Maplex are great drums. I did not know that You and Lex played. I play as well. I have a 7 piece Tamma with a set of DW double kick bass drum peds. Zuidjen (Spelling???) cymbals! :T
If you have not bought the drums yet Taz check out DW or Gretch! They also make an AWESOME kit! But if you have gotten the Maplex it is a sweet set that will do you very well.

Just wish I would have had the generator mod done to my house! :nonod: Put it off again and I am mad at myself! As soon as this passes I am getting the mod done to my main breaker panel! :T
They have a mod down here. (I am sure that they have it other places as well) But what it does is they put in an attachment to your main breaker panel. You just trip the City's power off, and then you hook your generator up to the panel. That way everything in your house is powered like normal. And you do not have extention cords running every were. You just have to trip your AC and the City breakers so that you do not over load your generator, or fight witht he city power once it comes back on. Lots of people on my street have that mod and it rocks! Cost me about a grand US.
Lex,
are your Pearl Drums Maple or another wood??
Darn a flip.....stand by.......
Crap.....sorry I sniped it....

I beat the hell out of drums, I don't play them. My instuments have 4, 5, 6 or 7 strings. Having said that, I have no problem beating rythms, especially if they have a parade/marching beat. For some reason I can't drive the beats for double time, quick time and slow march time out of my head. Well at least they are not voices.
Good to hear everthing is going okay so far.
Lex
Joining a marching band are you. If you have to wear pearls, I guess that those are the ones to wear. Must be tough moving around with a drum set hanging off you though. And it is not sticking it out thats the problem, it is devolping fretting hand finger pads so the pain stops. Then the learning curve gets short. You have to watch with acoustics what the neck angle is, some/lots are set up to use with a capo so there is more distance between frets and strings. Then you have to have fingertips of steel to play without a capo. It has ruined more beginng guitar players then anything. I wish PRS (Paul Reed Smith) guitars made a beginner because they have the standard electric action with wider spacing between strings. Makes for easier fretting and learning once you have callous'.

You can get an auto transfer switch that will drop out the contacts for the grid and start your gen set and power the circuitts you have chosen.
Ben where are you, you probably can explain this set up better.
If you don't already own that look at the inverter style, smooth and quiet(under 65db)
http://www.hondapowerequipment.com/ModelDetail.asp?ModelName=ex5500
Yeah taz that is an upgrade to the upgrade and cost another 1500 bucks. I think just the hook up and the manual switch would be fine. Just wait for the lights in other peoples homes to come on, or the street lights and then diconnect the generator, and hook back up the city power.
Rain and wind are starting to pick up now. My trees in the back yard are bending about 10 feet right now. I am going to try and get a picture with my digital camera for you all. But I seem to have lost it.
Playing Drums is so much fun. I have not played in a few years. (My Drums are in the cases in the attic) I found that as a Audio Engineer I will get paid faster than a drummer! Lots of drummers, and not a lot of sound guys that want to fly the board! I enjoy running sound anyways, so getting paid for it makes it even better! :T

Gregor,
Let her date other men. Until you are actually a "thing" or a couple just trust her until then just pretend you do not know who else she is dating. If you are right for her, she'll decide, if not then she'll cut bait. I wouldn't smother her either which seems to be the case as others including Bing have mentioned.
Actually, I think my drums are fiberglass. I could be wrong. It was the first or second set of Pearls to hit Knoxville, vintage 1973. So, do your homework and tell me what I have.

Jim, on your Honda generator, have you used it to support your whole house for long periods of time?
I'm putting a generator in our Orcas Island house before we move up there full-time and was seriously looking at the Honda EM-7000is (http://www.hondapowerequipment.com/ModelDetail.asp?ModelName=em7000is#). I'll put it in our basement bolted to a concrete pad, with sealed air intake and exhaust ports. It'll be on an automatic transfer/startup switch and is rated at 6500 watts max and 5500 constant. Thoughts?
I really like the 69db noise level at rated load. :T

Nice drum sets guys.
We had a major server crash yesterday so I was at work late working to get it back online again. Luckily it seems a reinstall of the database seems to have fixed (well patched) the problem for the time being. We've got a brand new honking server (dual xeon's and monster RAIDed disc array) that should be here tomorrow or Friday so we're just trying to buy time for now until we can transfer over to that.
We watched a couple of movies this weekend Saraha and Monster in Law that were ok. The new gear needs some tweaking yet but at least i've got 5.1 again after living without for so long.
David- The generator is from Lowes, I don't think it is a Honda. But I have used it to power just about everything in my house. Last year we had a storm and it nocked out power for 2 days. We powered our frig, micro wave, TV's radios, and ran a cord to the neighbors house and he powered his frig and a few lights and the TV. 5500 is what my is rated at constant power. 7000 starting. It is a great investment. Definatly worth the 700 bucks to get it!
Buy it for sure! The thing is awesome. I use mine about 2 to 3 times a year. Depending on the hurricane season.
Pearl had been in business a lot longer than I knew about. But I would guess only imported in US since 60s probably?

David; That Honda looks like a sweet generator. Seeing that you were from Houston and mentioned Orcas Island (I have no idea where that is) it brought to mind that the times you would need the generator maybe your basement would be filled with water. Have you considered placing it in a more elevated or movable location?

Yep, Washington state. We're just to the north of the area where the Sound turns west towards the Pacific. No problems with flooding - we're a couple of hundred feet above the water on a hillside facing the San Juan Channel so it'll take a serious tidal wave to get us wet. At that point, a little water in the basement will be the least of my worries. :)

While they were at it they decided to kinda disconnect mine. My DSL works, but I have no dialtone for placing/receiving phone calls. Called up Verizon today and they said they were swamped and couldn't get out until next week. Told them to, "Cancel my local/long distance and DSL". The lady laughed and asked, "What would you do for a phone?". I responded, "Cell phone and Cable Modem, please expedite the process". I now have a Verizon truck coming out at 8am tomorrow morning to fix the problem. That's $2.50 and a wasted morning of mine due to their foul up. Damn Bums... :x

Actually, those compressors run on electricity, they just compress gas. The ones at home yes. But my cabin is off grid and my fridge and freezer both run on propane. And no moving parts (other then the door to the beer).
But take the battery out of your car and lets see how far you get. ;) so in a sense all these gas pistons need a source of ignition to move. Match in the spark plug hole might work to :hb

I would guess Chris's "turbine count" would be 4, or 5 if you count the auxiliary power unit... I don't know if there are any others on his plane, as I don't know much about planes.
Shane, your lawnmower is probably 1 cylinder unless it's a riding tractor, or one of those big honkin' mowers they use on the side of the highway. OHV/OHC has nothing to do with # of cylinders.
Jason, I think he flies a C-17 but I could be wrong. It's a cargo jet I believe. I think the avatar with the prop plane was an in-air refueling shot.
Most larger prop planes have turboprop engines, so no pistons there either. :)

I know some things about planes, either from when I was into them as a kid or from asking Chris questions (that's how I know about the APU). But that's the extent of what I know. If I were to climb into Nick's Cessna, I wouldn't know which button/switch/key/lever to push to make it go. Which is probably a good thing because if I could make it go, I'd have to then figure out how to make it stop. :E

I might have a computer problem. I went home for lunch and my monitor was sleeping as usual. I moved the mouse, keyboard, pressed keys etc. Nothing. I tried to power cycle my PC using the reset button(nothing). I tried to power it down(nothing). I unplugged it and now it won't come back on. I could hear my fan going(not now) but I see the lights lit up on my motherboard.
Any suggestions?

Try unplugging the monitor from the video card and then back in again. If that doesn't work, try (shutting off PC first) unplugging the video card from the motherboard and back in. We had a PC do that here one and those steps fixed it...

When we finally get back into the house, subtract the 25" TV and add a 50" plasma + a CRT PJ (these oughta count as 3, they have 3 tubes!), so that will bring us to 4, maybe 5 if we put a LCD TV in the kitchen. Plus any additional computers I might add...

There's a great deal at Costco in Canada. The Matrix Ultimate Box set for C$44.99.
I saw a set yesterday and was very tempted to just buy it. Put it's kinda difficult to bring home a big box into the home, without an appropriate present.

taz13
09-14-2005, 07:39 PM
When I saw this fedex model, it could be taken down into a nose, tail and center section. the wings broke down into 4 pieces and all fit in a cutom carrier that slid into a uhaul style trailer.
Then there was this shot, wow.

However your hailing the big butt so...
SIR MIX-A-LOT LYRICS
"Baby Got Back"
[Intro]
Oh, my, god. Becky, look at her butt.
It is so big. *scoff* She looks like,
one of those rap guys' girlfriends.
But, y'know, who understands those rap guys? *scoff*
They only talk to her, because,
she looks like a total prostitute, 'kay?
I mean, her butt, is just so big. *scoff*
I can't believe it's just so round, it's like,
out there, I mean - gross. Look!
She's just so ... black!
[Sir Mix-a-Lot]
I like big butts and I can not lie
You other brothers can't deny
That when a girl walks in with an itty bitty waist
And a round thing in your face
You get sprung, wanna pull out your tongue
'Cause you notice that butt was stuffed
Deep in the jeans she's wearing
I'm hooked and I can't stop staring
Oh baby, I wanna get wit'cha
And take your picture
My homeboys tried to warn me
But with that butt you got makes me feel so horny
Ooh, Rump-o'-smooth-skin
You say you wanna get in my Benz?
Well, use me, use me
'Cause you ain't that average groupy
I've seen them dancin'
The hell with romancin'
She's sweat, wet,
Got it goin' like a turbo 'Vette
I'm tired of magazines
Sayin' flat butts are the thing
Take the average black man and ask him that
She gotta pack much back
So, fellas! (Yeah!) Fellas! (Yeah!)
Has your girlfriend got the butt? (Hell yeah!)
Tell 'em to shake it! (Shake it!) Shake it! (Shake it!)
Shake that healthy butt!
Baby got back!
(LA face with Oakland booty)
Baby got back!
[Sir Mix-a-Lot]
I like 'em round, and big
And when I'm throwin' a gig
I just can't help myself, I'm actin' like an animal
Now here's my scandal
I wanna get you home
And ugh, double-up, ugh, ugh
I ain't talkin' bout Playboy
'Cause silicone parts are made for toys
I want 'em real thick and juicy
So find that juicy double
Mix-a-Lot's in trouble
Beggin' for a piece of that bubble
So I'm lookin' at rock videos
Watchin' these bimbos walkin' like hoes
You can have them bimbos
I'll keep my women like Flo Jo
A word to the thick soul sistas, I wanna get with ya
I won't cuss or hit ya
But I gotta be straight when I say I wanna *fu*
Til the break of dawn
Baby got it goin' on
A lot of simps won't like this song
'Cause them punks like to hit it and quit it
And I'd rather stay and play
'Cause I'm long, and I'm strong
And I'm down to get the friction on
So, ladies! {Yeah!} Ladies! {Yeah}
If you wanna role in my Mercedes {Yeah!}
Then turn around! Stick it out!
Even white boys got to shout
Baby got back!
Baby got back!
Yeah, baby ... when it comes to females, Cosmo ain't got nothin'
to do with my selection. 36-24-36? Ha ha, only if she's 5'3".
[Sir Mix-a-Lot]
So your girlfriend rolls a Honda, playin' workout tapes by Fonda
But Fonda ain't got a motor in the back of her Honda
My anaconda don't want none
Unless you've got buns, hun
You can do side bends or sit-ups,
But please don't lose that butt
Some brothers wanna play that "hard" role
And tell you that the butt ain't gold
So they toss it and leave it
And I pull up quick to retrieve it
So Cosmo says you're fat
Well I ain't down with that!
'Cause your waist is small and your curves are kickin'
And I'm thinkin' bout stickin'
To the beanpole dames in the magazines:
You ain't it, Miss Thing!
Give me a sista, I can't resist her
Red beans and rice didn't miss her
Some knucklehead tried to dis
'Cause his girls are on my list
He had game but he chose to hit 'em
And I pull up quick to get wit 'em
So ladies, if the butt is round,
And you want a triple X throw down,
Dial 1-900-MIXALOT
And kick them nasty thoughts
Baby got back!
(Little in the middle but she got much back) [4x]

You never know what could be hiding under that news desk! The other day a beautiful girl cashed me out at a local bigbox store. I smiled and said "Hello", she smiled back with no front teeth and I almsot jumped back 6ft...
-----
Quick question for you tech gurus...
Which would be better for flight simulators...
1. 2.0GHz Pentium M (2MB C/533MHz FSB), 2GB DDR2 RAM (533MHz), 256MB Radeon X700
or
2. 3.0GHz Pentium 4 (1MB C/800MHz FSB), 2GB DDR RAM (400MHz), 128MB Radeon 9700
Weight/battery life is not an issue, it will always be plugged in at whatever desk I'm at. Which will give the better performance? Will the faster bus speed and better graphics chipset of the M laptop beat out the higher-speed P4 unit?

Those are some serious model planes! I guess for every hobby there's the lunatic obsessive fringe that goes all out with it (What? Who, me? A lunatic obsessive on the HT fringe? Just because I'm getting a CRT projector? Nahhh!)
Nick, I haven't played with a flight simulator since the 80s so I don't know how graphics/CPU intensive they are... but I would tend to lean toward the Pentium M setup for the faster bus/graphics card. The P4 system will crunch SETI units faster, but that's about it.
Paul, interesting boxset. 10 DVDs? There were only 3 movies. What's on the other 7 discs? And I always wanted

Nick, who is making the systems? I would tend towards the first one given the 2.0 ghz M can keep up to to the 3.0ghz P4, plus the X700 is a much newer and faster card than the 9700.
Stoney

My wife hates to ride it, she has no control in the back and riding the front would be too tough. It has a drum brake on the back that requires quite a grip to do any good. Her legs are also a bit short. It usually gets ridden when friends with children come over and I take them out on it. We have a paved bike path close to our house and it is a hoot taking them out on it.

Nice bikes guys....couldn't run around without fenders as I simply hate the skunk stripe you get without them ;)
Dealing through some daughter crisis issues here, it seems to never end.
long story short, she just won't listen and follow advice. We were trying to get her out of this stupid 3 bedroom apartment deal and damnit, we almost were clear, and she
1. Did not provide 60 days notice that she was moving at the end of her lease. I TOLD her a good month ago to PROVIDE THEM WRITTEN NOTICE THAT SHE WAS NOT RENEWING LEASE. In fact, I started to fill the damn notice out myself and got side tracked.
2. Did not make sure money was paid for this month's rent, so they filed it with a damn attorney which costs another 354.00. Actually, it's extended a month and a half now. The apartment people wont' talk to me in specifics because it's not my lease. She said they made Kimberly a consession, (not sure WHAT). You see, my daughter never talks to me, she just expects me to drop money down a damn black hole and trust that she's going to handle this situation. not this time.
So, she's extended a month on rent and has the 354 due for the late fee from last month, which Mom mostly was paying for her, over 700.00. So, Dear old Dad is hung for a grand on this deal. I was so pissed after getting off the phone with her last night, I slammed my fist into the back of my office chair, and sprained my wrist I hit it so hard.
needless to say, I am not in a great mood especially after having to deal with the X as well.
Oh there are more issues, that you guys don't even want to hear about now.

Been riding with out fenders for 40 years.... For commuter bike they are a good idea, however a person still gets wet, so a rainsuit is required anyway. For off roading fenders get in the way for they pack with mud very quickly, and they have no place on a race bike :P
Doug, I think this is one of those times where you should Let Kimberly swim on her own. If you keep bailing her out, it will never stop and she will never learn. She'll be in her 40's and still be expecting you to bail her out.
Anyway, sorry to hear
Bing, she can't pay it, the only way she can bail herself out is to not pay them, and get her credit marked for it.

Morning gang. How's everyone?
Wow, I didn't realize we have so many bikers. My bike is a Cannondale Black Lightning crit-type roader. I'll try to post photos tonight (IIR). Question for you: What mountain or hybrid would you recommend in the under US$800 range? I really like Cannondales but I'm not sure they're in my price range these days. Orcas is advertised as a biker's paradise, but almost all the pull-outs I've see are gravel and I'm really not wanting to take my road bike with 700x23c tires at 120 psi into that - can you say "road rash"? :) Also, there are lots of good trails to explore up there.
Bing Fung

Bing, she can't pay it, the only way she can bail herself out is to not pay them, and get her credit marked for it.
Such is the consequences of life .....
I suppose if I were in your situation, I would have to help as well, however, when does it stop? At what point will she learn the hard lessons of life if you keep bailing her out?
From what you have posted over the years, it doesn't sound like it will be anytime soon, for she just doesn't have the maturity of a person that has had to be responsible for her own actions.
Sorry Doug, I know you may not want to hear this, but at some point you have to put your foot down and let her work her way out by herself... This may not be the time, however other conssesions can be made. Stop paying for her phone, car, credit cards...etc. And stop making excuses for her. She will survive.

David, I haven't looked at sub $800 MTB bikes, l however you will need one for that great area you are moving too :yesnod: I suppose what you need will be based on the terrain you plan to ride. In my opinon 1 bike can't do it all, as such various ones are needed :D
A cross may be good alternative, provided you won't be riding tight single track trails, or heavily wooded and rooted areas.
Definetly post pictures of your Cannondale, I love pictures of Bikes, Bike P0rn I call it

I'll echo Bing's statement. It was the hardest thing for my dad to do and he literally broke down in tears having to do it but we're BOTH better for it. Trust me I hated him for doing it but I realized after the fact that I grew because of it and I'm a better man because of all of that. In hindsight, it was the best thing to happen to me.
Speaking of bikes, I had one at one time but sold it because I never rode it. It was kind of sad in some ways because I regret selling it. I was a dealer demo I bought for $500 and I sold it a few years later for $950.
http://www2.trekbikes.com/Assets/Bikes/Mountain/Full_Suspension/Alpha_Aluminum/Y_26/asset_upload_file175_3286.jpg
The model I had was the Y22 Carbon Fiber Full suspension. Mine was grey. I had clipless pedals, everything was shimano and the tires had the puncture proof seals in them.
It definitely was a good deal when I bought it and was a good deal when I sold it.
Well, suddenly, something else is overshadowing the above, so now, in the grand scheme, it doesn't seem as important.
It is important, and I am going to have to do something with her. But I have to do what I can to take care of myself too, and figure without my own health, she's really fending for herself. But right now I am concerned about my Mom. I'm not going to elaborate as I am not going to do any speculation, but she is going back to the Doctor today. So, you see, the crisis you think is at hand is not always what's most important. Mom had not even been going to the Doctor, so at least she is going now, and hopefully we stay positive all will be ok. But I won't speculate on no real information.
Prayers accepted for my Mom though that all will be ok.

Sorry to hear about the hardships, my thoughts and prayers are there for you also. Trials and tribulations are given to make us stronger, you should be a Superman after working these through. Hang in there.
David;
After shopping around here in Albuquerque, I went with Giant as best for my needs in the sub $800 range. I was looking for a bike with a large frame, wide gear ratio, and able to withstand potholes, road debris, and the occasional dirt/gravel trails. I had a motorcycle that I sold and had $1500 as my total budgett. After getting the bike, bags, lights, fenders etc.. I was still well under budgett.

Sorry to hear about your mom Doug, whatever the problem may be... Our thoughts are with you.
As for your daughter, she needs to grow up. You have enough things of your own to worry about (unfortunately including your mom now it seems). It's time for her to grow up. She can get credit cards, a line of credit or overdraft on her bank account to cover the extra money THAT SHE INCURRED and pay off that debt at whatever pace she can afford. She needs to learn how to live within her means and manage her money. If you keep bailing her out and paying 75% of her bills she never will. Be prepared for some immediate fall out, but she'll (and your relationship with her) will be better for it in the long run. Not to mention your wrists and chairs will be in better shape! ;) If you do bail her out, get her to at least pay you back.
Nick I too vote for the Pentium M, I'd still go Fujitsu, Toshiba etc though, just my $0.02 ;) Is 60GB HD going to be big enough for you Nick?
Shane nice Trek (ESPECIALLY for $500!! :E ). Shame you don't have it anymore  Stoney nice bike as well :T I'll really try to get a picture of my Kona tonight
David, I haven't kept up much with which bikes are top since I bought mine a few years back but Giant, Kona Trek etc were all brands to put on your short list :T
I still think the previous WRX front end was better looking.... The Saab 92X is looking more and more like the next car for me (especially with the upgraded engine :B ) if I can get a good deal on one in a couple years compared to the WRX :P
Kev, I'm with Bing, I think she'd look gorgeous without the makeup too :P Unfortunately a ton of makeup tends to go hand in hand with being on TV/in movies. Even on the men!

So I was thinking the other day... What if I was to sell all my big HT equipment and buy a Flat-panel display (plasma/LCD) and a micro system?
We hardly listen or watch critically lately, and the clean aesthetics are more appealing then the brutish power. A refined system if you will. I was hoping to build a dedicated HT in the basement, however I don't think that is going to happen any time soon.

bing you could do inwalls with the plasma to keep the lines clean and they'd likely sound better then micro speakers.

Bing: Say it aint so!!!! I call dibs on your equipment. :B I actually know what you mean. I haven't had much time in the past few years to really watch critically, even with my new TV. I haven't even calibrated my sub and speakers with my SPL meter. Of course I'm in an apartment, so there are neighbour factors for me to consider.
Andrew has a good idea of in wall speakers. I've heard some pretty good ones last year.
Or maybe a combination of smaller speakers up front with inwalls in the rear.
I hear Bose makes a really good system.
I'm gonna do either DIY's next or go with inwalls in the next house for the HT.
MY BP1503 driver re-cone kit appears to have gotten lost for the second time and it isn't looking too good for me at this point.

Well I'm just tossing the idea around...... I'm sort of tired of looking at this Rack of equipment for some reason or another. I long for the simpler times whn HT was comprised of a TV and a VCR  Really I am 8O
This summer we have been doing a lot of much needed clearing of all our stuff (junk) and it seems I just can't stop.
I'm not sure if I'll miss the sonic quality or not. Maybe only at the upper and lower ends, but for most day to day stuff, it might work.
I'll miss the music aspect of it, however I find I just don't enjoy that as much as I use to, I'd just rather be doing something else, or have silence than sit there listening to music (at least longer than 1 or 2 tracks). Old age?
Maybe I better spin something right now just to be sure :p:

Bing!!! We'll have to revoke your privelages if you keep talking like this! :naughty:
Having said that, I've read some really good things about the PSB in-walls. You could also keep your 1098/1095 in a closet (or similar) and just do an IR repeater to them. That combo would still give you excellent results when you wanted them and a cleaner look ;) Is the depth of your TV an issue now? If so a Panny plasma would likely be best ;)
Otherwise in the true spirit of cleansing I think you'll feel best if you gave me the 1095, Paul the 1098 and maybe Greg the TV :B :W
Bing - I see's yur are suffering from the HT doldrums...
It alsways passes, don't let it get you down.

Could be is Ben, not sure. I just played Diana Krall "Narrow Daylight" in SACD 4 times. 2 times in Stereo, 2 times in Multichannel.
Damn, she sounds good :T I would miss this aspect....
What happened to your BP1501 Ben?

Crazy Talk hey Jason? The size of the TV isn't an issue, its the size of the combined equipment. Like I siad, I had hoped to migrate all this stuff into a dedicated HT, but it's not happening anytime soon, meanwhile I have been over run with equipment & DVDs.
Plus I really want a all in one system like a Bose
I believe a had an "adhesive" failure, but I'm not positive.
The cone now makes some noise that isn't in the program material.
I contacted Kyle and "procured" the last remaining re-cone kit on the continent, only to have UPS botched up the delivery process twice in a row. On-line tracking says it has been missing since Sept. 1st. Kyle initiated a trace on the parcell which has turned up nothing.

I was thinking I could just box up my stuff and store it in all the empty equipment boxes aready in my basement, and move ahead with the micro system, however as technology changes so fast, I would be better off just to sell the stuff if I'm not using it.
I"ll give it another week, then I'm going to see if removing the dustcap shows any dust bunnies or foreign matter that are partying too hard. I don't know, but it could just be as simple as a loose peice of glue on the inside of the dustcap.
There is also a section of adhesive where the spider meets the v/c former that isn't there - this might also be the cause of the noise I'm hearing.

Good luck Ben, hope you get it solved soon :)
Another part of me is thinking I spend way too much time looking at PC monitors, TV monitors, Screens in general. My god I'm so far the leader here with 10 screens :E A person has to get out and away from all this stuff, and I find I just can't when it's all ther staring me in the face.
Hey, there I go, I never even notice David  It's funny how you guys always make me aware of these milestones :T

Bing, don't get too down on things audio/video. It's most definitely a phase we can all go through. I went through it about 8-9 months ago - nothing out of 650 CDs and 500+ albums was worth listening to. Not even radio appealed. It lasted about a week or so and left of its own accord. Why? Dunno. But things got better and now I'm really glad I didn't pitch everything. Give yourself a couple of weeks before you do anything rash, okay?

Hey Bing, how about this: you send me your system, and I'll send you mine. It's basically what you're looking for: a 25" TV and a 3 piece mini-system w/DVD player.
This is an old pic, we "upgraded" the TV to a 25 incher after it was taken:

Ok, guys thanks for pulling me from the edge for now :) I don't think I'm so much down on it, rather just looking for another way to "Skin the Cat" as they say (strange that I'm Chinese and I would say that...? :scratchhead: )
Kevin, what an awesome trade that would be.... For you :P
BTW, it's a bit more tech than what I was wanting, I was all VCR remember?"
