That's too bad, I met him once. Scotty was one of my favorite characters in the original Star Trek.

R.I.P. James Doohan aka Scotty.

Yeah, I heard about this going to work this morning, very sad news. I didn't realize he was 85. He will be missed. Next to Kirk, I think he was the most immitated character in the ST universe.

I got to give him credit, he lived life to the fullest. According to the article he was a father again when he was 80! Kids by 3 different women/wives, if I read correctly.

For a little more information on James Doohan, read my post in DVD Director. There was a connection between him and best selling author, Arthur Hailey.

I heard on the radio today that his wife requested that him or his ashes (I can't remember which) be sent into space. And from what they said on the radio it looked like they were going to make it happen.

Wouldn't that be a great tribute to a great man?

Yeah, Mitch, it was his ashes and apparently it's going to happen.

It's too bad that the space shuttle named Enterprise was one of the test mules and not one of the operational ones. Wouldn't that have been the perfect touch?
