I'm planning to demo the New Classic 7100 and the 5250 and 5125 and was wondering why I haven't seen more talk in this forum about these new offerings? I'd like to hear from anyone who owns them what they think or from anyone who's familiar with the products in general. Thanks!

Dave, I think because the products are so new, people don't know about them yet, much less have bought them, got interested in their units, done research on the 'net, and found our Club here yet.

As for those familiar, Brent Huskins is probably the most familiar here in Club Parasound. I haven't even seen the units yet in person, myself.

If you do find any reviews or other information on the new products, by all means, let us know, please!!!!

Dave,

There's actually a front-page thread on AVS from a user (Jermmd) who just got some of the new Classic components and appears to love the sound.

What I'd like to know (Brent?) is how the 7100 compares, sound quality wise, to the Halo. While I'm looking at getting into a C1 because of the programmable outputs...which I miss, I'd like to hear how those Wolfson dacs perform compared to the AKMs in the Halo.

That would be a VERY useful commentary, about New Classic vs. Halo in actual performance real-life. Unfortunately, there are very, VERY few people out there who could make that educated comparison, and I'm not even one of them.

They both have a great sound and are well worth the investment...

The processing of the 7100 is every bit as good as the Halo. What you get is added features with the Halo. Programmable outputs, Auto Calibration, etc., etc.

I have to add to this that Halo offers balanced connections (XLR). That's IMHO the most outstanding difference between Classic and Halo. Classic means single-ended (RCA) connections only...

Wow, really brent? Do you mean to say then that New Classic components put out audio and video that look and sound as good as Halo?

Audibly yes they sound really close...visually they don't compare to Halo.
