This covers a lot, but my two favorites were Johnny Quest and the Bugs Bunny/Road Runner Hour including all the characters. :T

Oah, yeah: BUGS ( "What's up, Doc " ) BUNNY
DAFFY ( "Thufferin' thuccatash " ) DUCK
POOR OLD ROAD RUNNER
TWEETY ( " I taut I saw a putty tat " ) BIRD,
A billion years ago, Johnny Quest....his life and adventures were fascinating. At or about the same time I read all the available Hardy Boys books.
Now its Jimmy Neutron with SpongeBob. The computer animation took a while to get used to compared to all the Looney Tunes but it is now my favorite.
Its not on tv but the 'stop motion' or 'clay animation' of Chicken run is good.
Since I have admitted to watching these once in a while, this message will self destruct in 10 seconds.

Patt, the same people doing claymation is on Wallace and Grommit, which is on TV and is coming to the big screen.
For me, I really like cartoons. Favorite ones, though, are probably all more adult--
Simpsons
Family Guy
Futurama

Samurai Jack - stylised, nice timing, good story
All the old school hanna barbera stuff - cheesy but awesome at the same time
Pingu - Stop motion, no dialogue, good for international audiences

I absoloutely must know when it comes to the big screen...simple but extraordinary!
Forgot the name,
An animated adult cartoon on TV for a while. About a family living on the poor side of town below a factory on the hill. The father didnt have any arms or legs and the mother was very skinny with two kids. Didnt last very long,The Oblongs or something like that?

Classic Looney Tunes, nothing else will do. Jetsons also.
DAFFY ( "Thufferin' thuccatash " ) DUCKActually, that was Sylvester's line. Daffy's was "Youuuuu're Desthpicable!!"
Funny how the popular Looney Tunes characters often had similar speech impediments. Daffy and Sylvester had a pretty bad lisp; Tweety and Elmer couldn't pronounce the "r" sound to save their lives, and Porky Pig with his st-st-st-st-stutter. And Bugs had trouble correctly pronouncing long words. :)
Some of my favorite LT characters include Marvin the Martian ("I'm going to blow up the earth! Isn't that lovely?") and Wile E. Coyote (in the rare instance that he talked, he always harped on being a super genius).

I'll toss in:
George of the Jungle/Super Chicken/Tom Slick
Rocky and Bullwinkle
Underdog
Roger Ramjet (eventually banned for his narcotic references - Proton Power Pill!)
Spidey (circa 1967- remember that music?)
I can't seem to get into any cartoons lately like i used to.
Although the new CG Spidey is cool, and i watch X-men Evolution from time to time.

Evening prime time.....The Flintstones.... I was glued to the set watching that as a kid and fascinated by the huge portions of ribs they were served at the drive in. About the size of a supersized meal at McDonalds.
Some really old cartoons listed above I havent heard about in years....Wacky Racers...Fantastic Four...Top Cat are also some oldies :D

Thanks for correcting me, Kevin. I had forgotten about Sylvester, Tweety's ol' foe.

Crusader Rabbit and Rags the Tiger (http://www.toontracker.com/crusader/crusader.htm).
http://www.toontracker.com/crusader/crusade1.gif
The first cartoon show created exclusively for broadcast television. It's creater Jay Ward also created Rocky & Bullwinkle, Fractured Flickers, George of the Jungle, and The Dudley Do-Right Show.
Opps, forgot one, GUMBY, I guess that would be considered a cartoon. It's stop motion animation, so like Wallace and Grommit technically not a cartoon, but funny anyway

Apparently the New Wallace and Grommet Film is called Curse of the Were Rabbit and a trailer for it can be found on www.screenrant.com/archives/wallace_and_gromit_trailer_641.html
Any body who has not seen any of Nick Parks Claymation should make the effort to see it as he is the Pixar of claymation IMO
Ps back on topic I will second Nicks Vote for Ren and Stimpy and add Quads.

I agree, I bought "Chicken Run". It's quite enjoyable. I can't even imagine what it takes to make something like that.
Tom and Jerry! And my 2 year old has taken over the 55 inch Sony. Nothing beats a 2 foot tall ELMO!

VOLTRON! I watched a few episodes again about a year ago and it's still a kick ass cartoon. It's funny to watch some of my older favorites like Thundercats or GoBots now cause the voices and acting is soooo lame. But not Voltron cause Voltron is just too cool.. :)
Can't beleive no one has mentioned Animaniacs yet. ;h
I remember when that started up...a group of supercharged characters for sure....lol.
Not a very long lived Saturday morning cartoon but Santa Buggito was good enough for me to record onto VHS tape.

The first cartoon show created exclusively for broadcast television.
Last time I saw that in my childhood, we had a television with an overscan problem. Crusader Rabbi was the resulting title screen.

Gosh, How old is Cruisader Rabbit?.......he look's really old. :)
