Well, I am not sure I call Desperate Housewives, a drama. Really? I think it's more comedy myself. But I do watch it, and my longer favorite is Everwood on WB.

Deadwood
CSI (original)
Cold Case
Boston Legal
The OC - damn fine drama at that...!

Thats about it. I dont know about you guys, but I'm finding it harder and harder to stay tuned for hour long dramas. I already dropped Housewives, CSI Miami, and Grey's Anatomy from my must watch list.

THE NAKED CITY
POLICE STORY
THE RIFLEMAN
HAVE GUN WILL TRAVEL...

aww shucks, these aren't on any more.

There really isn't anything current that can keep my attention for an hour. I tried watching 24 once but realized that you have to watch it every week if you want to keep up with things. And I just can't make commitments to anything on tv other than Larry King Live.

Since I typically use my TV to watch movies (on DVD) rather than TV shows, I haven't even heard of most of the series you guys are talking about. However, some friends have gotten me interested in a few of the really well-written and well-acted ones, including "LOST" and "ALIAS". In fact, I have enjoyed "Alias" so much I have purchased the first three seasons on DVD to "catch up". So back to watching DVDs on my TV. :>)

I don't care what category you put "Desperate Housewives", that is one wickedly funny show (which is a good thing). That also illustrates one reason why I hate categories at the video stores -- can't always figure out where they are going to put a given title.

BTW -- "LOST" looks astonishly good in high def, which I have recently succumbed to as well. Meaning I now have an HDTV tuner, which is the devil's own temptation device, enticing you to give up some of your spare time to watch some stuff you'd otherwise ignore. :>)

PS -- My favorite mystery: Why the apostrophe in "Drama's" ? (I guess maybe choosing their "Favorite" makes a person very possessive of their dramas.) :>)

Not so much a mystery as it is a mispelling apparently.

FWIW, you really need to check out 24 in Hi Def. This past show was about as intense a show as any I have seen.

New Lost on tonight!Yeah and it looks like a really good one!

24 has taken a turn on me. I didn't expect the twist in the story between Jack, Audrey and Paul. 8O Only four episodes left!

Russell got in ahead of me on 24.

George,
I didn't like 24 for those reasons until now. I'm now hooked. You can rent the first few seasons on dvd to catch up if you want to. You can also buy them.

Also having an HD-DVR(digital video recorder) tends to help :)

I also forgot to mention Eyes which I'm really liking now.

Thanks, Shane. Yeah, HD-DVR would make things a little more different.

Just heard, Joan of Arcadia's cancelled :( Our family really enjoyed that show, now we'll never know what was going to happen next season! :(

There's a few rumours going around that another network may pick it up for mid season (Fall schedules are already set) so here's hoping.

My list:

Lost
Veronica Mars
Alias (I'm far behind on this one...have enough eps on my DVR to last the summer!)
The O.C.
Everwood

I also love Desperate Housewives but I'll go with the Emmy's and call it comedy. I watch Grey's Anatomy but can't call it a favorite, though its a fun one.

aud, I like Joan of Arcadia too and am sad to see it go. Would be great if someone saves it!

I just watched Lost for the first time tonight and last week. I think they're showing the 1st season from the start, so I'm getting to see it from the beginning even though I didn't catch it the first time out.

You're going to LOVE this show Chris :T :yesnod: What did you think of last night's episode?

I liked it, Jason. I very much appreciate the aspect of the show that they don't come out and hand you information and backstory. They make you work for it, hinting at things, showing you a clip that alludes to parts of their life history. Stories like this that aren't just superficial have so much more appeal.

Chris, you'll find that Lost gets better and better. I loved how we got little bits and pieces about each character's backstory until they've now started to weave together a bit. Enjoy it!

Lost is a staple in our house. One of the fun things about it is if you look at the flash-backs showing one of the characters, you'll see other characters from the island entertwined in it. Some are shown more superficially than others.

Anyone been to the fictional Oceanic Airlines web page and seen the next season trailer?! :D

(Hint: you have to use the "mysterious" numbers from the show to find the easter egg trailer! :P )

Aud, I've been to that site...isn't it cool?! Have you also clicked on people's seats? Different things pop up when you do. There is also a website for Charlie's band Driveshaft somewhere out there also created by the show that has some fun things on it.
