Once my fence is done this weekend, I'm going to begin laying out or basement walls and then soon begin framing! That's my next project...but then you guys have probably heard my ramblings about that for some time now! :D

Hi Guys!!
Things are getting hectic at my work place ..Oh Well!
Andrew! Great get together and theater room. Many times I think to myself, that I wished I lived in Winnipeg.
Chris!,Congrats on the room. I look forward to seeing some pictures when you do get them up! Also congrats on the weight loss,, that's huge results. ;)
Hey E!! :sun:
Hey PAT!!,,Good to hear from you again.
So what tires did you get?
I bought the Michelin Arctic Alpin tires.
Had them installed on my original rims for the
Intrepid to give my Montegi's a break from the winter salt.
Well, the snow has now melted. :(
Lex! Don't worry. We except you to make those type of decisions and you have our support. I know exactly what you go through in those situations.
Bottom line is you have to do what's right for the Guide as a business.
Sonnie!,
Which FPTV are you seriously considering?
I loved the LCD Yamaha 500 that we have in town.

Sonnie, thanks for taking that pretty well. I really hated to have to say it. I tell you what. Since we don't have a current advertiser selling, I'll let you do a 2-3 week offer for a group buy in the Buy and Sell area with the stipulation that HTG is neither endorcing it, nor guarnteeing it. That is tempered with the fact that if we get an advertiser before the period is up, the offer would have to go away. I will allow email direction to the offer but not post whoring in FP. ok?

Hello everyone. I see people have been busy. :T I've been very busy since Friday. Allison and I demolished our master bathroom. She was awesome. We worked nonstop all day Saturday. Sunday was beautiful. worked on the yard in shorts. :sn:
I'm a little bummed that I have not heard anything about my job interview. Good or Bad. I even sent the president of the company a follow up e-mail. Let me know something. I'm guessing that they will go with someone else that will work for less.
Andrew - great picture of you party.
Lex - bummer about the computers. Good idea about the group buy :T
Chris - Ouch. did you have to get stiches like Sonnie? Way to go with the life fitness :banna: Since I've been married, I gained at least 10 pounds. I'm getting to be the porker.
Sonnie - Thats great news. Although its gone now.
Pat - How's it going buddy. :later: I went through the same thing at the beginning of the summer. New AC and air handler unit. My monthly saving have been more than the monthly payment. I love coming home and not hearing the AC or the heater running. It use to run 24/7 but never cooled or heated the house.
Night everyone.

I could paint that on my garage door E... cool flip pic!
Trev, I will no doubt probably end up getting a 2HD... especially being my situation now. I keep seeing some great screen shots of the Z2. I'm trying to get the fellow to post some shots here in FP for us. Maybe he will.
Girlfriend???... I do not want to be Sonnie Bobbit! 8O
I have 2 girlfriends already... Angibug and Chelsea (wife and daughter). That's all I can handle.
Well Lex... you are right and it makes perfect sense... I'm not experienced with running a forum but I'm learning by trial and error. I don't fault you in any way what so ever. You have a business to run and I can respect that. I thought about it afterwards and felt like I could get myself bogged down quickly which is really not what I want. I was just too excited to think straight...lol. (Hey... I was thinkin' about my favorite forum buddy's ya know!) :P
I'd rather it be kept confidential and low key, please. You guys know about it and maybe I can help you all along and just leave it at that. No reason to go any further with it. Positively no whoring in FP or anywhere else for that matter. I'd rather my name not even be mentioned about it as to keep any inquiries to a minimum. I think I can make 3-4 sales a year by word of mouth, etc... with or through only my close forum buddys on occasion. I'll probably sell a few locally to few friends as well. But it wouldn't have to be anything we need to discuss or brag about in the forums. In no way would I ever try to compete with a paying advertiser... nope! I appreciate the forum and you all know it's not my intention to take advantage of a good thing. I'm still excited though! :D

Hey, guys. Back at work today. :(
Sonnie, as far as the drywall goes, I used Liquid Nails and 2" coarse drywall screws (for wood studs) on BOTH layers for maximum adhesion. Not required, but it's the best solution. I've got some solid walls now. As far as the FP dealer thing, good for you!!!! I'll probably send you some E-mail traffic off-line about it.
Eduardo, thanks... got 5 staples in the head. Not a big deal, really... just will take a week to heal up.

I liked the aggressive tread pattern and the low price :)
I put them on the factory steel wheels too...no snow yet...but I know it will show up eventually :(
Eduardo, mine still runs, but less often and a lot quieter...haven't had to make a payment yet...6 months same as cash :)
Still waiting on the first utility bill since we had it installed.

Good Morning Everyone!
Chris... I was thinking about applying one bead of silicone from top to bottom in between studs. This would give me screws at 16"OC and a bead between each 16"OC. Something to ensure that space between the screws will not ever cause any noise... not that it would necessarily.
Staples in the head huh? A serious HT wound. Hope all heals up well.
What are you doing to your house Eduardo? Persistence on the job... cool!
Pat... good to see you around. Thanks on the HT. The A/C guys were there last night and will be back tonight to finish getting the return air and vents installed in the HT room.

Married guys should be allowed to have girlfriends ? ;zx That would be wifey swinging the sword. No thank you.
Well some interesting reading here. Sonnie is a great fella and so is Lex. Glad they understand each other. There should be more of that in this world.
Mentioned in a post elsewhere that the Guide site is still cranky ( for me anyway). I was accessing The Guide with my router reconnected and next thing I knew I could no longer access the site. So I had to disconnect again ( peeing off my wife whose computer was being fed an internet connection via mine and the router). Then yesterday, with the internet connection going direct to my computer I couldn't access The Guide. Kept getting Page Can't Be Displayed message like before. After 3 tries it finally connected. Mats assured me that he is not tinkering with things, so I don't know wht's going on. Anyway, I can't use the router. Anyone know a way of connecting 2 computers to the Internet without a router ? Probably not.

Well George if you are using Win98SE or XP you can turn on ICS (internet connect sharing...free inside every box of wholesome goodness that is Windows)....you need one pc to have 2 network cards and a crossover cable and you'll be up and running.
Here's how to do it:
http://www.annoyances.org/exec/show/ics
If you want to try something other than ICS you could try Proxy+...it's one of the nicer proxy programs out there. The equipment list is the same but Proxy + make it possible for any version of Windows to share internet services: http://www.webattack.com/get/proxyplus.html
The router route is definately easier.
What kind of Router (and model) are we talking about George?
Dlink, SMC, Linksys, (shudder) Micro$oft???

Sonnie those chairs are really comfy and I'd have no problems sitting (lying) in them for 4+ hours.
He!!ish at work these last few days and its only going to get worse as the training session starts tomorrow. glenda's flying out to new brunswick (east coast) for a week with her parents to visit an aunt so I have to drop her off at the airport at 5am then head off to work to set up for the training course. I'm then meeting with our IT manager about the security issues and then back to the training and then making a presentation at lunch time to all the staff on an application I (well mostly me) built. Training all afternoon and likely taking a bunch of people out for dinner at night. Repeat that on thursday and to a lesser degree on friday and that's my week!
The new sub drivers should be here the end of the week so with a little luck I'll be busy installing something on saturday with the hope of hosting a meet at my place on tuesday (Jeff, Jeremy, gord you guys available?)

That's good to know on the chairs Andrew. The Fred's manager told us that he'd even let us bring them home and put one together and try it out. If we didn't like it then we can take all of them back for a refund. Hard to mess up that deal.

Hey Trev...thanks! We aren't at the hospital yet...contractions seem far enough off that it doesn't warrant that...plus the hospital is only 15 minutes away so all is good! :D
Thanks Bent...so as I wait I'm just watching the SNOW, yes SNOW fall down in our yard...it's beautiful! What a great day!

Hey, Erik, I know all about that waiting game. Been through it three times. Good luck and hope all goes smoothly.
Gordon: thanks for the suggestions. I am just too timid when it comes to computers to try stuff like that. The router I am using is D-Link DI-604. It is as cranky as this website. I switch back and forth from direct connection to shared after I finish at The Guide so my wife can use the internet on her computer, but I often have a hard time getting the router to connect properly. I'm probably doing something wrong.

Thanks for all the well wishes guys, I really appreciate it!
Have fun at the Thanksgiving supper tonight Sonnie...that's a great thing you're doing!
Gord: Well...here's hoping we make it to the hospital with more than 5 minutes to spare! 8O

D-Link DI-604
Hmmm, I just set my brother-in-law up with that router and it works just fine with the guide. Nice little router....advanced firewall rules and SPI...nice combination.
There's a couple of things you can try.
Go to Dlink.ca\techsupport
(you can't use Dlink.com because there are differences between the CDN and US sites for firmware.
1st and foremost flash to the latest version of firmware. Make sure you pick the correct revision....it's on the back of the router. H/W: <----ABC or E
Flash to 3.20 Aug 2003
(this will reset your settings....but that's okay because you want to start from scratch).
If your firmware was up to date...
1. You may have some rules in the advanced firewall section that may be blocking the guide or as crazy as it sounds....maybe the ip is the guide is being blocked under ip or domain filters.
2. There is a reset button on the router that will clear all your settings and start you from scratch.
You need at least version 2.18 because if you have DSL rather than Cable you need the MTU setting section to set the MTU to 1492 (that may be causing you problems as well).
If you want we can take this over to Tower of Power and I'll give you a run down of each section in the router set-up pages and help you with settings....it's very straight-forward :)
It will have to wait till later tonight for a detailled explanation, as I have to run a community club canteen tonight from 6-9 (11 Atlantic time I think)....part of the deal when you sign your kids up for soccer (it's either that or they keep the extra $50 they take from you).

Ok ok, I deleted my prior comment. Everyone here knows by now that procreation is a touchy subject with me.
On that note, and in light of things that have been going on in my life recently, once again I'm going to have to quit posting here. At least for a while. Things aren't going well at work, and holiday (in-law) hell is just around the corner. I can't post in a positive light when my life just keeps going from bad to worse to worse. I've waited nearly three years now for things to get better, and every year has been worse than the prior year. At this rate it'll be a miracle if I make it to 2005.
If some of my "procreation" comments seem to be out of line, I apologize. They're coming from a guy, who at this point in life, wishes he hadn't been born.
For those who are curious about my fate at this point, they're transitioning our stuff over to the new group (oh goody, we get to train them so they can take away our jobs!) If everything goes according to plan we'll be out of work at the end of January. Needless to say I'm finding it hard to find any reason to be productive at this point. Nor can I find any way to describe this place right now. Just watch Office Space and then imagine a place that's 100 times worse.
I was hoping my 4000th post would be a happier one, but I have to do this in the best interests of everyone here. Hopefully, in a few months, post #4001 will bring good news for a change.
Goodbye, good luck, y'all have fun in TTP land and Home Theater land! Hopefully some day I'll be able to do the same.
Since I won't be around, let me extend my congratulations to Erik, Nicole, Chris and Jen in advance. Sounds like Nathan is about ready to make his grand entrance! (look out, one last cynical remark coming up)EDITED by Trevor as this was silly to post ;)

Kevin, I'd like to say I understand completely, but I really don't.
My Dad has cancer, and is not doing very well. I don't know if he will be able to beat this. The odds aren't in his favor at his age.
My daughter's knee is swollen, and Dr's haven't figured out what's wrong yet. She was at a specialist yesterday having it drained and steroids injected into it and tests ran. I've been worried sick over it.
I've had my own set of problems medically. I'm ok, but getting older sucks sometimes. But my own problems have been the least of my worries and I try not to take it out on everyone here. It's not their fault my life is dog shit. It's not anyone's fault.
So, your job's not going great. I hate that for you, I really do! But there are plenty things more important than just a career. Try your health, and the health of those you love. I know damn well you can find something to do if you have to! Besides, if you had to, there's always in laws to temporarily move in with to get straightened out.
So, in short, I really don't understand how you let things take control of you personally. I say, get over it, and treat people with the respect that they deserve. Honestly, if you can't do that, then problems will start to surface elsewhere, possibly even your relationship at home.
The first time this happened, I said oh Kevin, it's ok, just straighten up and come on back. But not this time. I say that you may not know what problems are really, you've not even scratched the surface with the job. Yes, jobs are important to our welfare. But invariably, when people loose one, they land on their feet somehow.
How about Ken that posted in the Chalet a while back, his granddaughter with cancer. Relate to such problems can give lots of perspective. If you don't deal with this job thing any better than this, I feel for you when the waters really get turbulent. [/rant off]
Let's just call that tough love. We love you as a friend Kevin, but you need to get some perspective on things, you really do.

On a different topic...it looks like Whacko Jacko has an arrest warrant again. If the police really have something on him this time I sure hope they don't screw up. Jackson is a Freudian nightmare come true. It's unfortunate, but if he really did do what they suspect...then I hope he gets his just reward. :loser: If not...well I guess for now he's innocent until proven otherwise.

Gordon, I hooked up the router again to try out some of your suggestions. Just for the fun of it I tried to access The Guide and Lo and Behold ! ( George sits here in front of his computer, scratching his head) Well, now that it's working again, I'm going to leave well enough alone and hope I can continue to use the router. Meanwhile, thanks.
Kevin,
I don't know if you are bothering to read any more posts here a TTP, but I'll say this anyway:
You are a very intelligent and talented young man who has a great future ahead of him. You may not know that now, but you do, my friend. I've been on this old world for 67 years. The last 5 years have had a lot of sorrow due to loss, including my oldest son this time a year ago. And I could talk about 8 or 9 straight years in my life that were the darkest I had ever known, but I won't. I will say this though, that during those dark years there were signs of light and day by day they just got brighter. The thing is you have to hang in and have faith in yourself. Life has a way of straightening itself out, but it often needs a little help from us. So do this for me, will you. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off and do it all over again. And you may want to reconsider staying away from The Guide 'cause there are a lot of us here who have always been pulling for you, and you may want to chat with us again soon... maybe even tomorrow.

OK, sorry if this seems childish, but I have built models (esp cars) since as far back as I can remember. Anyway, its something that I haven't done for a few yesrs.. 8 or so, however I have collected all type of model cars. I especially like Tamiya plastic model kits.
In the last decade I started collecting the European 1/43 scale kits that are made or either resin or white metal. These are very rare and limited production runs, and the skill level require is more than the typical plastic model.. Most times the pain staking hours are spent applying decals that take a lot of patience to apply. Especially around compound curves. The hardest part is most of thes kits are very raw and really leave the work up to you. The satisfaction comes form knowing not many will have the kit and that the it is limited to typically 200 or so examples. On top of that I found it very therapudical... :D
Anyway I have built my my entire collection of 1/43 Metal and resin kits, based mostly around Lemans racers and F1 cars and this one is one of my favorites.
It is Ayrton Senna's Mclaren MP4/7 as raced at the British GP in 1992. It is made all of white metal and photoetched parts. It is a Tameo Kit

Today I did something I'd been meaning to do for a long time. I pulled my rack out and went through all cables coming off my system. A system of the magnatude of mine can be a cabling nightmare. It actually got to the point the cable "pile" at the base of the rack would actually EAT cables. What does that mean? Well, it means things would get tangled up down there, and basically disappear, so pulling them out was impossible, lol. I'm serious, it was quite the mess. I've still got some rack work to do, possibly pulling out a mega-cd changer, moving a couple of pieces off the top into the rack, repositioning CD player on top of rack, etc... But it's much better than it was! Anyway, it really was quite an embarrassment for a cable guy to have a system in such a state of cable disarray. I feel much better about it now. :)
I was off not feeling well this morning, so I decided to get into that this afternoon. A bit more of a job than I first thought it might be.

I'm not sure whether to laugh or cry over that flip Trev. Amazing what you can come up with. And the Lex pic comes up again. I think he's gonna hurt somebody about that pic one day. ;)
Kevin... I hope things will get better for you very soon.
E, now if Nathan ends up being born on November 26 that is going to be one heck of special day! :D And definitely one I'll never forget. Although any day will be very special and I shouldn't forget anyway should I? What am I trying to say? I think you know.
Neato on the car kits and collections Trev and Bing. I was into model airplanes and hot wheels a long time ago. Okay... I know it ain't the same.
Lex... an unorganized cable guy? How does that happen? :P
Hello Pat and Gordon and Chris and George and Eduardo and Jeff (where did he come from?). Hopefully I didn't miss anyone.
My day cooking ended up being a fantastic one. Me and my buddy Steve with 2 men over 65 and 2 over 75 years of age. Can you imagine all the stories we heard? lol Amazing! Anyway the singing and food was fabulous. My mom even played the piano for us in the fellowship hall after dinner... it was pretty cool.

Congrats E!
Well here's one for Gord and Kevin to ponder...I took my notebook to work these past two days as we were using it as one of the PCs for the training course I helpped put on. Anyway we had an ethernet connection for each PC there so I had internet access and at some point I tried to log onto HTG and it failed just like it did before. It was working fine from home prior to this so I think it downloaded a copy of the routers DNS file that is still screwed up. I just tried to log on at home and it still didn't want to work even after I did a flush dns in dos. I wasn't about to give up this time though so after searching online I tried a few things and one of them seems to have fixed it. I'm not sure what did it but here's what I ended up doing...
I first tried a registry tweak to increase the DNS cache size using this tip...
Speed up browsing with DNS cache
When you connect to a web site your computer sends information back and forth, this is obvious. Some of this information deals with resolving the site name to an IP address, the stuff that tcp/ip really deals with, not words. This is DNS information and is used so that you will not need to ask for the site location each and every time you visit the site. Although WinXP and win2000 has a pretty efficient DNS cache, you can increase its overall performance by increasing its size.
You can do this with the registry entries below:
************begin copy and paste***********
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Dnscache\Parameters]
"CacheHashTableBucketSize"=dword:00000001
"CacheHashTableSize"=dword:00000180
"MaxCacheEntryTtlLimit"=dword:0000fa00
"MaxSOACacheEntryTtlLimit"=dword:0000012d
************end copy and paste***********
Make a new text file and rename it to dnscache.reg. The copy and paste the above into it and save it. Then merge it into the registry.
I then ran this utility http://members.shaw.ca/techcd/WinsockXPFix.exe
After doing that it asked for a reboot and once back into windows it now seems everything works as it should.

Excellent news on the 6000, I understand they are getting scarce, as the new stuff (which really isn't much better, but will be able to offer more limitations) is ready to come out. I hope your dealer was able to confirm the availability to the installer of the HD upgrade kit (which I recall doesn't come with a 6020 or a 6000 kit), they are a bit tight with distribution on the SW21 (or SW44, if more than two receivers) to enable your 6000 to switch satellites.
Does your 6000 still have the VGA port on back to allow hookup to most projectors?
Oh, BTW - thanks for settin' me up. :D

OK! ,,Now you have me concerned. I have no idea what you are talking about. Mine is the 6020, I just checked. It's still in the box so I am not sure about the VGA port.
What is this about an upgrade kit and what's the SW21 all about.

Nothing to be worried about, the 6020 is the receiver and dish kit, however the second lnb (feedhorn) may not be included, unless BEV has changed their policy, which was to only allow qualified installer access to the hardware to upgrade your dish for dual sat. reception. Almost any installer has access to the SW21 multi-switch from sources other than BELL, so no need to sweat that one either. The SW21 (ow SW44, for that matter) are the in-line switches that are installed between the IRD (integrated receiver-decoder, or satellite receiver) and your dish, it allows the receievr to look at the correct satellite as required to get programming, Bell essentially has all their HD programming on one bird and their SD on the other bird.
And as far as obsolete, it's almost just the opposite. The 6000 does NOT have the ability to down-res a HDCP (High Def Copy Protected) signal, so if the networks ever decide to implement HDCP scheme, you are free and clear.
Also, the 6000 receiver includes a VGA ouput as well as component video, so there is no need for a transcoder if you ever need to feed a display (projector) that only has RGB/HV input for HD viewing.
The only things (I'm aware of) that the 6000 does not offer is Closed captioning during an HD program, and IPG/program info overlay within an HD image, of which I don't consider to be deal breakers in any sense.
The replacement for the 6000 - which hasn't been officialy announced yet will have HDCP enabled, and will not have the VGA output.
You did well, but you may (possibly, there is a slight chance) have to wait a few days longer to view HD from both satellites if your installer (or you) doesn't have the upgrade kit - which is just a second LNB, a SW21 (SW41 if more than 2 IRD's) and a short length of coax to connect between the second LNB and the multiswitch.
TGIF!
Congrats E & Nicole :sn :dothewave: :sn

Good Morning Everyone! and Pat!
It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood!
Nothing like a good hot cup coffee and some of mama's homemade pecan pie this morning... hmmmmmm hmm!
Yeah Bent, I remember now that you got that other flip... so now I'm retracting my congrats. ;)
Trev, the 6000 is a fine receiver and is in no way about to be obsolete. They are much cheaper than they use to be. Dish was selling those for $600 up until a couple of months ago when I got mine for $149 with both modules (8VSB and 8PSK) and they offered free installation but I do it all myself. If you visit DBSTalk.com you'll see they are still selling like hotcakes. I bet Dish has sold several hundred of those over the last couple of months and they are still selling for $375-$400 on e-bay. If you got installation then they should include whatever switches you need. If you are doing your own install then an SW21 switch is only 10 bucks or so on e-bay. I have one dual LNB dish and one single LNB dish with an SW44 and SW21 daisey chained with 4 receivers.
Dish does have some new receivers coming out. The HD811 is the replacement for the 6000 but there's not gonna be much difference quality wise from what I can gather. The same HD module is inside. The processing chip might be a little faster and I think the program guide might be extended a few more days but I don't know if this is worth the extra price for it. There is also the 921 which will be a DVR with 2 tuners, DVI, and will record HD and SD.... but it will be 1000 bucks.

Ha ha too funny....Hey I just accidently bought new headphones. Sennheiser HD570's...should be a step up from the $30 Rat Shack cans I was using. The rat shack pair will go to work cuz the ear buds hurt if I wear them more than 1 hour at a time. I wanted to buy CDN, I really did but after taxes and shipping $80 savings is $80 savings. Oh well :)

I'm feeling pretty sad right now. She was the type person we could always count on in a pinch, no matter what it was we needed. She will be missed. She really knew how to cut my hair. Nobody can take her place as my barber, or as a person that knows my whole family and showed concern for my whole family. She watched our kids grow up, gave them some cuts along the way too, she bought cars from my Dad, she never made a big deal out of a missed appointment. She's a class act.

I conversed with David a couple of weeks ago via e-mail as well. He was okay as you say but isn't able to do a lot of posting for various reasons. He did tell me that he'd be back to normal as soon as he could.

Everyone is doing wonderfully, mom and dad are a bit tired but we couldn't be happier!
Of course I have a tone more pictures but I don't have too much time to download pics right now...I'm at home with Andrew while the Grandparents are off to some appointments...then they'll return to watch Andrew and I'll return to the hospital. I think we'll be coming home tonight but if not definitely Saturday morning...me thinks Nicole will want to come to the comforts of home tonight though.
See ya in a while...and thanks again fellas!

Ok seriously, it is a great bunch of guys here. It certainly fills a void in my own life, not being married. Sometimes, I think I'd have no one to speak with at times were it not for TTP. Not just inside TTP, but emails too. I guess I don't have a lot of patience or time for local friends really and over the years, the real friends have turned out to be few and far in between. My best friend used to be my wife years ago. After that, it was like, ok now what? I've been thinking more about it would be nice to have a good local friend or two. But mostly, I'd like it to be a her really. :boobies: After all, talk is way overrated anyway. OF course, then if I did that, it would be :argue: then :beer2: and :sh: and finally ;zx I guess I better just hang here. :)
Lex
Andrew, thanks. It is pretty awesome really. The sound is exquisite and the picture big enough, and reasonably good quality. The things I would change now, are getting smaller and smaller, less and less. Then I will only change things as I have to due to mechanical problems really, well into the future.
BTW, the cables you see up in the air behind are speaker cables strapped to the back wall, keeping them away from other power and interconnect cables. I've got things routed the best I ever have with power cables to one side, interconnects to the other, and speaker cables suspended. In my rack, power cables are grouped as much as possible, away from other cables. The noise floor is very quite now. An investment in time well worth it!

Thanks Bing, Trevor. Trevor, my RPTV is sitting in my foyer. It's really in the way big time, but danged if I know what to do with it. I thought I might try to sell it. But not sure anyone would want it needing repair. As you may recall, the convergence went nuts on my rptv, that's what prompted me to go ahead and move to FP.
Honestly, for the price of repair of most RPTVs, you can buy these little LCD pj's and throw them away when they break, lol.

Good Morning Everyone!
I got about 3/5 of the insulation done this weekend... I don't like working with fiberglass. I coated myself with powder prior to working with it and it helped quite a bit. I only have the 2 open walls remaining which I left off so we could have some air flow while installing the rock on the ceiling and existing walls. Then I'll install the remaining insulation and rock.
I'm going to Home Depot today to see about the Lutron dimmers and a few other things.

Don't you want to consolidate your M.O.R.T.G.A.G.E
Don't you need V.I.A.G.R.A. ?
Don't you want to get 3 gazillion dollars from Prime Minister Hasamaplizaion?
Don't you want to add 3 inches to your Nether regions? (and who doesn't?)
Are you afraid of people who simply put hi as the subject (what's so scary about that).
Don't you like being called hxse3g2yx67?
Yeah I'll probably do the same shortly....

I'd have to really believe in the last one before I could try these rules:
GUY RULES
Please note...these are all numbered "1" on purpose!
1. Learn to work the toilet seat. You're a big girl. If it's up, put it down. We need it up, you need it down. You don't hear us complaining about you leaving it down.
1. Sunday = sports. It's like the full moon or the changing of the tides. Let it be.
1. Shopping is NOT a sport. And no, we are never going to think of it that way.
1. Crying is blackmail.
1. Ask for what you want. Let us be clear on this one: Subtle hints do not work! Strong hints do not work! Obvious hints do not work! Just say it!
1. Yes and No are perfectly acceptable answers to almost every question.
1. Come to us with a problem only if you want help solving it. That's what we do. Sympathy is what your girlfriends are for.
1. A headache that lasts for 17 months is a problem. See a doctor.
1. Anything we said 6 months ago is inadmissible in an argument. In fact, all comments become null and void after 7 days.
1. If you won't dress like the Victoria's Secret girls, don't expect us to act like soap opera guys.
1. If you think you're fat, you probably are. Don't ask us.
1. If something we said can be interpreted two ways, and one of the ways makes you sad or angry, we meant the other one.
1. You can either ask us to do something or tell us how you want it done. Not both. If you already know best how to do it, just do it yourself.
1. Whenever possible, please say whatever you have to say during commercials.
1. Christopher Columbus did not need directions and neither do we.
1. ALL men see in only 16 colors, like Windows default settings. Peach, for example, is a fruit, not a color. Pumpkin is also a fruit. We have no idea what mauve is.
1. If it itches, it will be scratched. We do that.
1. If we ask what is wrong and you say "nothing," we will act like nothing's wrong. We know you are lying, but it is just not worth the hassle.
1. If you ask a question you don't want an answer to, expect an answer you don't want to hear.
1. When we have to go somewhere, absolutely anything you wear is fine...Really.
1. Don't ask us what we're thinking about unless you are prepared to discuss such topics as baseball, the shotgun formation, or monster trucks.
1. You have enough clothes.
1. You have too many shoes.
1. I am in shape. Round is a shape.
1. Yes, I know, I have to sleep on the couch tonight, but did you know men really don't mind that, it's like camping.

These might be a little easier to implement:
THE 13 RULES OF LIFE
1. Never give yourself a haircut after three alcoholic beverages of any kind.
2. You need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use the WD-40. If it moves and it shouldn't, use the duct tape.
3. The five most essential words for a healthy, vital relationship are "I apologize" and “You are right."
4. Everyone seems normal until you get to know them.
5. When you make a mistake, make amends immediately. It's easier to eat crow while it's still warm.
6. The only really good advice that your mother ever gave you was: "Go! You might meet somebody!"
7. If he/she says that you are too good for him/her - believe them.
8. Learn to pick your battles. Ask yourself, "Will this matter one year from now? How about one month? One week? One day?"
9. Never pass up an opportunity to pee.
10. If you woke up breathing, congratulations! You have another chance!
11. Living well really is the best revenge. Being miserable because of a bad or former relationship just might mean that the other person was right about you.
12. Work is good, but it's not that important.
13. And finally; be really nice to your friends and family. You never know when you are going to need them to empty your bedpan.

Hey that's not fair that bottle was in the last blue zone picture you posted a few days ago:nono:
Well i had a "fun" night. Tonight I tried to host a HT demo night for the local guys only to discover that I had two blown tweeters and a strange burning smell. My cousin apparently was listening to the system this afternoon when the protection lights came on the rotel amp. After everyone arrived i was there with my drill pulling apart the M8a speakers to find out what was going on...turns out at least one resistor looks like it got very hot and two tweeters aren't working...just what I needed after spending $$ on sub drivers this past week. My guess is the IB sub caused the Rotel amp to clip which killed the tweeters on two of the speakers.

Truthfully, I really wasn't even hoping to get real busy this weekend as I'd hoped to get a few things done around the house, etc.... But I'll take the business while it's here and figure the rest out later. Maybe they will be a little patient too. Especially the international orders, not like they will get there that fast anyway.
EJ, nothing's really changed with my family. Thanks for asking. Maybe I need the business just to free my mind of my worries for a while.
Trev, I undid the IMG tag on the pic, and requested Bing go ahead and pull it. He did. But you also need to be aware of what I said back there, so I suggest you go back and read it. ok?
Lex
Andrew, sorry to hear about the "Mates" getting toasted :(
I just spent the last hour or so putting the window in my car back on it's tracks
We were out doing some xmas shopping and it was getting late so we decided to stop and grab some food on the way home.
I rolled the window down to order and it was fine...since it's about 20 degrees here I rolled it back up to wait for the car ahead of us to pull away.
When I put the window down to pay at the drive-thru it seems fine but there was a slight hesitation and a thunk...didn't think much of it and we get our food and start to pull away and the window stops at the half way point and won't go up any farther or back down 8O
I was glad we weren't too far away from home at that point...zipped up my coat and cranked up the heat to compensate for the half open window.
First things first, I had to eat and then figure out how the door panel came off. Wasn't too difficult but then I had to figure out how to get the window lined up again. It was pretty straight forward, once I figured out which screw was holding the track in place. Then as long as I had everything apart, I sprayed all the moving parts with white lithium grease to keep things moving smoothly.
Then I had to remember how to put it back together again :D
The worst part was, as I was trying to figure out where the problem was I scratched the window tint
Took about a 6" long gouge out of it 8O
I works now and I didn't have to pay dealer repair shop prices to get it fixed 8)

yeah, I too noticed the bottle in the PC the other day. Strange I thought, but hey, why not? So, Trevor, that wasn't correct to ask what's new now, as nothing really was.
Pat, bummer on scratching your tint, but good on the repair! Usually it's a regulator, and not much fixing it without a part. Hope it holds for ya.
Lex
Doug, I was glad I didn't need any parts too...they're kind tough to come by at 10pm.

Good Morning Guys!!
Off Today and got up early as I will have someone here soon
to install the Hi-Def Satelite.
yeah, I too noticed the bottle in the PC the other day. Strange I thought, but hey, why not? So, Trevor, that wasn't correct to ask what's new now, as nothing really was.
That's why I reposted the picture.
Nobody had said anything about the bottle, so I just assumed nobody had noticed. It was a perfect fit being Blue and all. Plus Bawls is the drink for computer enthusiasts as it is an all caffine drink that will help to keep gamers up all night so they can finish their games or whatever they like to do in the wee hours of the night.
Anyways the pic would make a good advertising tool for the company that produces BAWLS.
So where is my buddy Bing!!??
Lex,,I did not have an issue with the pics..
If I did, I would have taken them down myself.. :)
Instead I went along with the fun.
Sorry on the bald pic..Didn't realize that you felt that way about it.
It is a chic magent tool though..I think so!! :P
a bald pic of Lex = Romance and lust with the women!! :P :P
Pat,,Good job on getting the window fixed.
I couldn't imagine driving around Toon-town with my window
down while it being -20C outside..:E
People would absolutely think I was nuts or something along that line!

Well, I really miss driving the Vette right now.
It won't be until March/April that I can take it out again.
Something to look forward to though..I guess. :)

Andrew,,Forgot you were a Bachelor last week.
I know how tough it is when the family is away.
I went through that in the early summer when Tracey went to visit her parents when her dad had the heart attack.
It was tough,,The first couple of days are OK as you aquire some time to yourself.
However, after that it is a hard and lonely experience, especially when the kids are gone.
Anyways,,Another week is going to make it longer.
Hang in there Bud!
Another reason I should be in Winnipeg right now..
We could blow the rest of Andrews speakers while demo'ing stuff.. :P
Just kidding,,Sorry to hear about the speakers..That would drive me crazy.
Now even when they are fixed, your gonna be paranoid while turning up the volume. :(

Andrew, I didn't notice about your tweeters last night. :( That totally sucks! Perhaps the IB on the same amp as your mains is not as good an idea as first thought.
Maybe Bing got mad at me for asking the pic come down. I thought you were mad about it though Trevor. Well, Bing has been a little scarce, not coming every day anyway. So, maybe he'll be here soon. :)

Hey Gang :later:
Lex, not even close  ;)
Trev, that Viper looks to be a perfect fit. If you accidently happen to buy it and don't want to explain it to Tracy, you can keep the Vette at my place and hope she doesn't notice  (as if  )
Hey, I just got a new digital camera today. A Nikon 5700 (same as Lex's) I'm going to give the 990 to Brook. The price was right so I ordered it on line (Monday). It came in 2 days 8O
http://www.cameracanada.com Best price I found, and shipping was super fast.
Later gang, gotta get back to work.

Hey Andrew... That's where I got the link from! As I was going through my Camera Sellers links, I came across the CameraCanada link. I though humm, I have never seen this site before, and wondered how I got it (normally I notice things like this)? I though maybe the seller changed the format of the page or something.
.... But now that you mention it, I remember you posting the link and I must have saved it... 8)
Well thanks for that Andrew! It was lower by $140 for what I could get in saskatoon, plus I saved on the provincial sales tax of 6%... Bonus!
Job is going great... I'm having fun and it's challenging... There is life after Corning! My office mates are fantastic! Thanks for asking :D
Bing
Wow Trevor, nice ride! 8O I still like the back end of the competition Viper better.
Bing, congrats on the 5700! Nice camera. :T

Man I love Vipers!!! :E
I really really really want one! :yesnod:
Bing!! Awesome camera!,,That one was around $1799 when I bought my outdated obsolete G3 along time ago this past January. :(
Glad your work is challenging..BTW, is it a permenant job for you?
Andrew,, I would likely go for the red one.
This is the first time I have been able to see one in person.
I had figured it would never happen in this part of the country.
They come in Black,White and Silver..
The Red sure looks awesome..:T

Who'd have thunk, a picture of the camera rather than a picture from it
I have the external battery pack attached, it has a shutter trigger and zoom for when the camera is vertical 8)
Trev, the job is Full time Contract for now..
OK... My lovely wife is calling me about the camera, seems she's more in to it than I.

Hi, guys... Happy Thanksgiving! I'm over in Europe and about to fly downrange into the combat zone again for a few weeks. Looks like Thanksgiving dinner for me will have to be a boxed turkey sandwich and Oreo's while I fly. That's my job, though, which I'm still proud to do. I'm still thankful as always for the opportunity to do the job. Just keep in mind while you have dinner with the family all our boys that are eating MRE's (Meals Ready to Eat, or preserved food in a bag) in sandy foxholes. We ALWAYS have something to be thankful for, if nothing more than just life itself, a gift from God that holds its own intrinsic joy.

Bing, congrats again on the camera. I hadn't seen one of those attachments for the bottom, can you detail exactly what you mean by vertical, etc..?
