Hi Everybody!!
Joey,,I can't seem to load those pictures you posted..could be a Netscape opportunity. Good luck with the car..There is nothing like buying a new car..(except new gear:))It is quite a thrill. I think it can be a good investment as long as you take good care of it and plan to keep it for a few years. My last car lasted me for 10 years as I babied it. We had 4 years of car payments then she was all ours..The only reason we had to sell it was because we somewhat outgrew it. We really feel we got our moneys worth out of it..Had we sold it after 4 years, then we would have lost alot of money on it. So if you plan to keep it for many years I think a new car can be a very good investment. Just my thoughts on this.
Paul,,Jump on that Pronto before they are all gone.
Not sure if I should use the SD-9200 right away or hold it for Christmas. Hmmm..If I use it now then I can get something else for Christmas..
Flip..Soon.

Nice flip Trev.
Joey, let me ask you, would you rather own a house or own a car? The money you put into a car = less money saved for your house downpayment. There's a bunch of loan calc's out there so you can easisly work out your monthly payments, and taken over 5 years, it doesn't look so bad. But my rule of thumb is either half or 1/3 of you gross should be your car price. If you make 30k, then 10-15K should be your car price. But it really comes down to what you can afford monthly and how long you want to pay. Check out sites like edmunds.com they have info on car prices and specs and invoice and rebate info as well as negotiation tips. Oh, and if you fall in love with a car, the salesman just sees $$$.

Nice running flip Trev! :D
I have now got most of my Pronto programmed!! Thanks to Andrew / Bing / Rick for advice, and Andrew & Bing for posting their CCF files, saved me some work on the Denon 3300 codes. I couldn't find a good Dish Network CCF, so I built one myself, and it works like a charm! So J6P, if you go satellite, let me know.
Pat - have fun at work, hopefully today will not mirror last week.
Paul - as usual, good financial advice.

Mornig all!
Thanks for that recommendation Greg, I'll pass it on to my co-worker.
Joey, Those are very nice cars, my one co-worked bought a white one with grey leather. Every friday when we go for lunch, she let's me drive it. :) She sez' she would just rather someone else drive, works for me for I'm a crappy passenger anyway :B
One word of advice though, Listen to Andrew and Paul. It is a nice car, but after all it is just a car. You pay the depreciation on the car if you purchase it new. How ever, if you could find one 1 year old, it still is virtually, a new car, however somebody else has paid the depreciation.
Every one should experiance a brand new car in thier life time (man I sure have had my share) but unless you can afford it, it best to buy 2nd hand. I bought my beemer 2nd hand and have not regreted paying half the price for it. I had 50km (31K miles) when I bought it. It was still like a new car, shure i would like nothing better than to walkin to BEMA and order up a spaking new M3, but it's not going to happen, I will however keep scanning for a good used one :B (not that I can afford that either, but you never know... my kids don't need no stinking college :) )
leasing is an alternative if you must absolutly have the car, but can't afford the payments of outright ownership. However be aware you endup paying more for the car in the long run should you decide to keep it. If you decide you don't want to keep the car at the end of the lease, then you have paid a wack load of money and walk away with nothing.
Now I'm not sure of you finacial situation, but remember how you felt a few months ago,you were hating the situation very badly.
Ok sorry for being such a DAD, ultimatly you have to be happy, and if this new car is what it takes, and you have the means, then go do it..... :) I don't really know nothing about nothing anyway :)
Watched Gladiator last night... If I may be a bit more casual, poetically, than our brother Pl@.....
"WOW!!!" what and awesome show! I did't see this in the theater, come to think of it, I don't see a lot of shows in the theater :(
Loved the sound in this one as well. The story was very compelling and redeaming, though I think the pup ceasar show have got more beats to the power of 10 man!
Picked up Chicken run as a stocking stuffed for Katherine... drag thing is I now need to wait until Xmas to see this show :(
Have a good week end guys :)

Has anyone here ever considered a HTPC? I'm seriously considering building one.

Rick I sorta have one with my DVD player and Matrox G400max video card. I have used it in a pinch but I find it is not a handy as a console DVD. I have been told that if it is used as only a HTPC ( ie, required software only) that it would be more stable. The beauty of the HTPC is you don't need a line doubler for the graphics card will do the correct scaling for you. Ask ThomasW about this for he runs a dedicated HTPC I believe.

Howdy all, haven't posted in a while (been busy), just got back from Connecticut--we had T-giving at my sister's house (mansion?) there. We had fun, and I even calibrated her home theaters (2 of them) for her--I'm such a geek I brought my Avia DVD and my SPL meter just in case she had a HT that needed tweaking. Her upstairs HT is basically the kids' system--just a 25" TV, Mits VCR, H/K DPL receiver, Cambridge speakers (center & mains--no surrounds), Sony DVP-S3000 DVD player. The basement HT is the nice one--Hitachi 60+" HDTV, Onkyo DD/DTS receiver, Onkyo DVD player (basically a rebadged Toshiba), JVC VCR, and the Cambridge Soundworks 5.1 speaker system. So I had fun tuning up her HT and fixing her computers, and eating her turkey. :)
Joey, good luck on the car! VWs are nice--as are all German cars--if I were in the market I'd be considering one. I've had my trusty Saturn for 3 years and 38K miles so far, just have to get another 7 years out of it! :B By then I'll have enough saved up to buy a car for cash--no more car payments for me! I bought the Saturn new but the payments were killing me (I paid it off in 2 years though), so I will probably go with a "pre-owned" vehicle next time around. Maybe even a Jetta.
I'm still debating whether to spring for a Sony DVP-S9000ES for Xmas--it looks like a nice toy but the lack of scaling and no CD-R support makes it a bit less appealing.
See ya... KJP

Good Evening Everybody!!
Question for Rick..Is the sound quality between the Denon 5700 and 5800 much different..I ask this because I realize the DAC's are different in the two models..The 5700 used 24 bit Burr Browns which are very good and would come close to the sound of the NAD as it uses 18 bit Burr Brown DAC's. Would the 5700 be recommended as a decent pre/pro if one could get it at a real good price?? I realize I would not have EX capabilites.
Thanks.

Trev, I saw Unbreakable as the new movie of the week, I've seen it twice. I watched my X-Men DVD, and might watch an hour of Gladiator before I go to bed tonight.
Office Depot is selling 40GB 720rpm Hard Drives tomorrow for $120 each (there's an instant $50 rebate, so no fuss of sending in for a rebate via the mail), I think I'll be buying 2 for that price if possible. It means I have to get up to get there at the opening of the store at 10 a.m.
I always buy my HDs in pair, one for daily use, one for backup (I have no patience for backup devices, just as easy to ghost my HD overnight when I decide to do a backup).

Hello, quite tired but thought I would check if page #100 had come up yet :)
Saw Quills & Requiem for a Dream today.. as for RFAD - I really enjoyed it, very powerful movie and Aronofsky's style from Pi is back better than ever.. well that and Jennifer Connelly being in it doesn't hurt :). I'll just refer you to Pat's review for more information :). On a serious note though a very gripping film, Aronofsky truly is a visual director and really knows how to grab the audience and take them on a real ride. Many people were looking away toward the end but even then noone left, everyone was glued to the screen after the credits were over with a rather blank look of horror and relief (the film does make you happy to be alive in a strange way) on their faces. Heck if a movie can provide this sort of experience, I am there every week! :) Thumbs up.
I am very interested to see what Aronofsky does with the next Batman film, and the large budget he will have at his disposal. Cater to the masses or do something in the same vein as his past films? Either way I am looking forward to it.
Quills was a lot of fun, nothing too deep about it, Geoffrey Rush is simply amazing in his role as the Marquis de Sade. Very funny and cheeky, but after the two hours it didn't seem like that long at all. The movie just oozes energy & wit, go see it if you have the time, I am sure you will enjoy it.
3.5/4 for RFAD and 3/4 for Quills (neither is really one for the kids btw :D). Time for bed now :).
---
On another note I am planning on replacing the wire for my front soundstage with some IXOS6006 11g. They are quite reasonable for the lengths I would need and am wondering what kind of improvement they would provide over the 12g Monster XP wire I currently have in my system (all around). I did some reading on another forum where IXOS is rather popular and did hear a lot of positive things :). Bing (and Andrew I believe), I know you use this setup for your mains (well from your page), do you have any thoughts on this? much appreciated.

Trevor yes if I sell the Denon I'll replace it with the Sony 9000ES pre amp and power it with the HK amp. It will take about 3 days to get the credits to show up on your CC then you just enter the first three digits and you're done.
Jehan Yes both Bing and I use the IXOS cable and I love the way it looks. Honestly though I havne't A-B'd it against the 12 guage cable I was using before though since I got the Maggies at the same time I got the new cable. I've been meaning to sit down and put back in the 12 guage cable and see what I hear...in fact I'll do that this morning before Glenda wakes up....suck when you can't sleep in...ever:)

Good Flip Joey...Starting to win those I see :)
Andrew, You should use the Denon until you can afford a newer Pre/pro that supports ES/EX DPL2 and all the other stuff. The switch to me seems like it would just be lateral that is an expense as well. unless you are getting the ES for next to nothing :) Or absolutley must have it, I wouldn't do it.
Jehan, while I perceive the IXOS have given me a bigger sound stage, I have only done limited testing of the IOXS against my 12AWG superflex. Generaly, I thought it sounded slightly better and more open. I would not argue the notion that it could be placebo as I have not done blind testing :B My statisfaction comes from the fact that it can't hurt performance, and everytime these cords catch my eyes, it makes me smile. It's like having a Rolex over a Timex. Both do the job adequatley (actually the Timex is better) but one makes you feel taller, richer :B excuse me as i wave to the crowd :)

Oh well Andrew and Bing, I ordered the 6006 stuff, 25 ft length, enough for my 2 mains + center :) Followed the purchase with IXOS banana plugs to terminate them all. I don't know why this thread forces me to spend money at random times. :) Like you said those cables do look rather cool.. but I will try and do a A/B comparison between them and my XPs (which were rather cheap so I don't feel too guilty).

oh oh what have I started with this double posting LOL
I just finished doing a very quick A-B against the old 12 guage wire I had. In a nut shell I'm VERY happy to have bought the IXOS wire. I was only listening to one part of a song I'm very familar with that has high notes that go into the stratosphere esp on the maggies anyway there's lots of bells in the recording (The Hunt - in case Jeff is reading) anyway they were much more "real" when I have the IXOS connected vs the standard 12 guage cords. I'm not sure if this is due to the type of wire, the gamma weave, the fact the IXOS are 11 guage or the termination (better banana's on the IXOS) but they are worth the money no doubt if you're looking to get the most out of your gear....BTW if you haven't already done so their interconnects are amazing for the same reasons. We did a blind A-B test b/t my IXOS interconnects and a pair of Audioquest ones at Jeffs and it was a night and difference.

What do you call someone that thinks they are into HT, but really aren't? Last night we were over at a friend of my wife's having dinner. I was fixing their computer, and noticed they got a new Sony Wega TV. Her boyfriend/fiance moved some of his HT gear over so we started talking about rec, speakers, wire, dvd. Turns out he really likes DTS and doesn't think DD is really that good. Well I didn't want to get into an arguement over DTS vs DD, just finding someone to talk HT with was cool. We finally get around to running a demo of Dances with Wolves in DTS. Oh, his speaker setup was less than optimal. His mains were some old 5 way by Webb, and he had AR centre and rears. Don't know which model, but the centre was squished between the entertainment unit and the tv, not much breathing room, and the rears were on the floor. However, the DTS demo sounded pretty good. What I really wanted to see was how the Wega would do the auto squeze. As the dvd was playing, I thought Dances was 2.35, but on screen it was more like 1.85. So I checked the setups on the dvd, it was outputing 16x9, but the TV wasn't setup to do the auto squeeze. When I made the selection, Patrick, the fiance, wasn't too pleased, with the change in picture. I tried to explain that this was the true aspect ratio of the movie, and tried to describe 1.85 and 2.35. But he didn't like the loss in the amount of picture. I toggled between the two settings, showing how one was distorted, tall and skinny, vs natural. But those big black bars just did not go over too well. So I basically dropped the subject, and left the original settings as they were.
Now I don't think I'm a HT snob, but it really upset me to see such a nice set, not being used properly. He did go all out on his connectors, a Toshlink, and some monster component cables. I didn't try to force any of my opinions, just stated some general facts and let him take it from there. I guess what really bothered me was his insistance that he knew about aspect ratios, when in fact he didn't.

Wow, that was a Supremely nice price on the Denon 5800. Until I get into a house with a better room for HT, I'm not buying anymore big ticket HT stuff (unless I can get a deal on a ES/EX receiver under $700 because I could sell my current receiver to a buddy). I wish I had y'all's moola to spend on the HT stuff, but with Christmas around the corner, I've been buying gifts for others for now. Did a lot of shopping at the Warner Brother's store yesterday. I usually give out WB golf shirts for presents. It's a lot less stressful for me. Plus I bought about 20 DVDs to give as gifts from the Best Buy deal on Thursday on their online store. I still need to do just a little bit more X-Mas shopping, but I'm 90% done for now. What a relief!
I did buy myself a 40GB hard drive today for $120 plus tax. Got my old hard drive ghosted and transferred all the data and expanded my 2 old partitions to two 20GB partitions. I'm running my new HD as I type. Now I have plenty of disk space for...about 6 months. :D

Well Skating was fun this afternoon. Katherine is doing much better now on the blades. I switched her over to hockey skates this year and it was like learning to skate all over again for her. Hockey skates have much more rocker to the blade, as well they do not have the picks for starting and no tail for stability.

Wow, I was just looking over the box office figures for this week - Grinch collected 52.4M over the 3 days and has reached 137.4M in 10 days! Wow.. I would say this will hit 200M and probably pass Mi:2's 215M mark. Unbreakable made 31.5M over the weekend and is at 47.2M over the 5 days - quite impressive. I will be interested to see how this falls off (or doesn't) over the next couple of weeks.

Just got done watching today's X-files which I taped since I had to go out for dinner. Not a bad episode, nothing too special.. some hardcore fans might be a bit miffed over the fact that Doggett seems to be slipping into Mulder's role of watching out for Scully... the coming to the rescue thing certainly reminded me of it. Also, the premise of a conflict in personalities and methodologies doesn't seem to be happening as was promised in the first episode. Things seem to be rolling on quite smoothly. Any thoughts on the episode from those who saw it? :)

Pl@, good looking shirt...I'm with Joey, how is the actual quality of the shirt? Is it thin/thick?
Does it seem like a cheap concert shirt that is going to shrink to barbie size when you wash it:)?

Geesh, gone for a day and all double posting hell has broken loose!! :)
Trevor......THE UPGRADE KING!!!
You just can't help it.....Can you? :B
The 5800 does sound much better than the 5700(IMO)..Congrat's on the new toy's. I'm surprised that you couldn't find matched pricing here in Canada on the 5800. What surround back channel speakers are you going to use? Is that another upgrade? ;) Be careful how many boxes come into the house at one time. I find that if you space out the amount of boxes entering the house it is much safer. :B
Andrew,
I use IXOS IC's from the 5800 to the Cinepro 3k6II. They seem to be an excellent product but, I've never done any DBT's on them though.
Joey,
Nice flip! Great looking shirt.
Bing,
Nice to get a chance to go skating with the family. Were waiting for the outdoor ice to be ready but, +8 C isn't helping the skating or the business. :M Let it SNOW!!!!!!
Here is a picture (http://www.telusplanet.net/public/swd/images/family.jpg) of my family looking for early snow in the fall. :)

Rick,
Cool picture! Looks like you have a great family :)
Yesterday was pretty cool. I went down to ThomasW's house for a bit and gave him a quick tutorial around the ProntoEdit software, and was introduced to some of his calibration devices. We also discussed building a wall for my ht room as well, which looks like a good option for me.
I also stopped by Trace Downing's house, as he was having a small HT meet, but was only able to stay for about 45 minutes before driving back home. There were some other Home Theater Forum cats there that I hadn't seen in a while. And even though I took my camera with me I failed to take any photos.
We get to go inspect the new house on Friday, and move in on next Friday (the 8th). I'm all ready packed and wanting to move! I'll take a ton of photos on Friday during the inspection, to show you my new place :) I can't wait!
Hmmm...what else? Today kind of sucks as my stomach is being a bit shifty, might go home early, but then again I really need the money. So we'll see.
Other than that it's your average Monday, nothing going on yet, but I'm sure the sh*t will hit the fan soon enough ;)

It's funny last night watching the X-Files they mentioned Fort Collins. I looked at my wife a said Hey.......thats were Joey lives......she looks back at me with that look......what the hell are you talking about. :B
Also, I watched the X-Men on the weekend it was funny to see how they portrayed the people from (Northern Alberta, Canada). :) I did enjoy the movie!

RE: TTP shirt, I'll wash it on Wednesday, so I'll let you know how much it shrink. It seems to be okay, like a normal Hanes beefy-T-shirt.
Bing, no help in slide show in PP either.
X-Files - okay episode, but that's going to be a nasty scar on Scully's neck/back. I also noticed the Ft. Collins mention, and I also thought of J6P too! Too funny.
JeremyS, that running flip was WAY too premature. We got into a tizzy about 20-40 pages ago. It flips on post 35 per page. Usually running flips are more than 5 posts. :D

Howdy folkses... how's it going on this fine (?) Monday after Thanksgiving... I feel like I didn't have a weekend at all, and I'm in for a 5 day work week this week. I'll never make it to Friday at this rate! ;)
So, how many of you are springing for the new Sony DVP-S9000ES? I think I saw a post by Bing on one of the forums, anyone else? I'm still itching, waiting for a quote from Oade Bros. Despite the fact that I should be waiting for a player with 16:9 scaling to come out, and should wait for the DVD-A/SACD dust to settle, this player is ohh sooo tempting. Just to get progressive scan, adjustable Y/C delay and no more lip sync problems (I still have a DV-414)would make it worth it. :)

Good Morning everybody!!
Just got out of bed at 1:30pm..Was supposed to work at 7:00am..I called in and told them I would use today as the day off for the week,,just means I will have to work on Wednesday instead...Just needed to sleep...so tired..Going to see a doctor tomorrow as I have had a sleep problem for a few weeks now...But today was rediculious!!
Joey,,Just curious as to what page Patmans shirt back was taken from.??
I love the logo and the idea..Just awesome.
Andrew,,Good move on keeping the Denon..Now we can be Denon buddies..I am sure the 3300 is an excellent receiver.
Rick,,Could not resist..The price got me and with a call to a new credit card that I received I was able to work out an excellent payment plan( Thanks Paul for the Advice)...So the 5800 is a reality,,and to think I almost picked up a 5700 instead..Glad to hear that the 5800 sounds better too...I am going to pick up a set of ADP Studio Dipoles for the second set of rears..I am going to call on these today.
COOL Forum..One just for the 5800..I will sign up.
Nice Family picture Rick..You have a beautiful family!!..Looks like you were at Banff for that one..No girls..just boys..Better get working on that.:)
I agree with Patman..we shouldn't run on the FLIP until we are at least at page 30..Except for me I can do it anytime.:D..Oopss Andrew will probably kick me off the Forum for that one.;)

I'll post an image of the back of Pl@'s shirt when I get home :)
I have a new shirt entitled TTP2000 - Epstein Eviction - TTP Style (I'm more than likely going to get it for that one, heh) which also shows a post on the back, one that Ron posted telling us to stop the excessive posting. I thought it was rather funny, heh. I figure I can get some of the most memorable moments of the TTP on the backs of a few shirts :)
I should have all of them finished quite soon, along with the new website :) I'll even have a Joey6P.Com store, but I'm sure I'll be the only person ordering my crap from there, heh ;)
BTW: EVERYONE: What do you guys think of having all of our signatures on the backs of one of the shirts instead of just our names? Cool idea? People can sign their name on white paper with black thick permanent marker and either scan them or mail them to me or someone who can scan them, and we can add it to the back of a shirt :) What do you think?

interesting idea re the sig's joey but I'm not sure I want them on there. I just wonder about the sales to people that havne't signed it etc. The TTP isn't just for the regulars but also those that post every now and then though may feel connected to it. Anyway just my inital thoughts on the matter.
Trevor yes the requirements for TTP membership appears to be a denon receiver/pre amp...pronto remote, IXOS cable and ???:) I'm looking forward to having my HK amp back from its vaction at your place LOL I know the maggies will enjoy the high current.

Rick, very nice looking family, you are a luck man. How old are your boys?
PL@, no problems on the slide show thing. I'll insert them into power point, it's just that I wish it had a global insert, like select this group of files (370) to be used as slides, rather that single inserts....arghhhh!
Kevin. I'm just testing the waters for the 9000es. We are supposidly getting one at the Sony store and I'm on a list to call if interested. We'll see. I don't have a progressive capitable TV as of yet so I would only benefit from the SACD portion, if that's really a benefit at all. Maybe I should take some of my own advice and wait until the upgrade is worth while. Like a new TV... :) Like Jehan said.. posting here affects a persons spending habits :)
Joey, I like the logo. On the signature Idea.... Just make sure I get a copy of Trevor and Rick's signature OK? :B

Jeremy, now that was one heck of a running flip.
I saw XFiles last night, scary episode, wife had to leave for the other room. Then I turned out all the lights. :) I totally missed the Fort Collins ref :M, and Scully's going to have one hellova scar. Like "GET IT OUT!" It reminded me of the other horror type files, and they really went gross on the effects, was that one big slug or what?
Was watching Ebert last night, they gave an excellent review to Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. Openning Dec 8 at selected theaters. Next weeks show is all on DVD's, should be fun, I think I'll tape it so I can hand it out to friends who are interested.
Trev, I'm glad I could help. :) So how did that speach start? "Tracey, please don't kill me because people will know I'm missing." ;) I think Sony is the only ones of SACD, Thomas would know for sure. Doesn't the 9200 you just bought suport both? I remember reading about it during the inital press release.
Joey, don't know about those signatures, see what Bing has to say. ;)
Bing, I was thinking the exact same thing. :B
Andrew, looks like I'm falling behind on the minimum requirements for posting on the TTP.

Oh Trev, ever consider buying Tracey's present online? Check out http://goldfishlegs.com/DEALS/deals.htm It's the Net Jewel 20% off. I've never used Net Jewel, but have used other deals found at Goldfishlegs. I'm sure if you have a quick chat with Tom V, he'd stear you in the right direction. By the looks of it, a 16-46 would be a pretty good choice, that should really excentuate that bottom end. :)
I'm 30, but will be 31 in Dec.
Bing, if I ever get my but in gear, I'll have to scan in some pics. I think I've got a couple of other pics lying around, I'll just have to find some time to upload them. Oh, and Joey looks like Chris Elliott, :B or you can head over to his site, he's got pics all over the place.
Man look out when that magic number hits 30 posts! Total chaos on the TTP!

Paul,,Anytime Tracey uses the computer she is always visiting some sort of Ring shop or Jewellry website..Its also all she watches on TV when I am not around..I can just see the screen burn in on the RPTV one of these days..
Nice Flip Rick..Don't know how you were able to stay on.

Errors and when it does load up it takes forever.
No Denon stuff here...believe it or not I have never owned a receiver.
I got my first "real" stereo system when I graduated from high school.
It was a Kenwood rack system but it was all separates :)
I just got around to upgrading the last Kenwood piece out of my system.

Trevor,
Chest pounding bass? You should come for a visit sometimes. The bass can be felt next door! :B
Tom V had mentioned to me that most of the bass info out there (99%) would be no problem for the 20-39's, I also wanted to keep a little tighter bass for music. The 16-46's give up a little in the 30-50 range.

Ages eh? interesting.. if Joey is a whippersnapper I would be in trouble. I turned 22 this year. I don't feel it though... doing research work and being in the company of people so much older most of the time I forget. Wish I could feel 22 though :). Joey, Chris Elliot? hmm never thought about that.. heh lol. The picture book sounds like a neat idea... wonder if we can get it together.
RickS: Meridian 861? I think Mr. Reeves said it best - "Woa". I had the pleasure to listen to this piece a fair bit and it is heavenly.. musically at least.
Got Season 2 Xfiles today.. oh uh.. gonna be a long run to get through that. Looking forward to the IXOS cables and connectors arriving later this week too. I was just browsing around Bing's and Andrew's pages.. those cables are sexy!. Bing you shouldn't change TVs.. that TV fits with the whole racing car image your theater has.. very cool :) However, progressive scan... SACD... must have... :). Looking down the upgrade path for me, I guess it will be some nice amplification next. Something like a ~200W 3ch amp and later on a 5ch for the rears and possibly subs...not sure what brands yet. The Denon will do as a pre-amp for a while, at least till a good quality pre/pro comes out with the arrival of DPL-II. After that I am not sure, thinking of adding a SVS sub into the mix perhaps followed by an ISF calibration on my Elite. What am I doing, I am damning myself by speaking of such things.. like I said before to mention is to buy :)
Things seem to be moving right along this morning :)

Kevin,,Which SVS Subs did you get??A single 20-39 powered by one channel of a Peavey CS 800 (thanks Gregg--the amp works great!!). I don't need two subs yet (smallish room), and the SVS fills out the bottom end just greeeeaat. Not only is it great for movies, but it adds a new dimension to music too.
I've been waiting for Oade Bros. to email me back on the Sony DVP-S9000ES. I might just end up calling them today. I want a cool new toy under the tree this Christmas and I think the new Sony is going to be it. I hear it sounds great with CDs (excellent DACs), and even makes DD DVDs sound better, though it's hard to imagine why since it's just passing a bitstream to a receiver. Plus it'll be nice to watch DVDs without the lip sync being off all the time (I have a Pioneer DV-414--Joey6P can relate) and hopefully I'll be able to cure the Y/C delay issue that I can't tweak out on my TV.

Trevor,
Cut up that card!!!!! It's taking a shit kicking. ;) If you have the space go for two subs. Also, if you are going to use the 5800 for the amp section why not order a powered sub? Is the Fidek amp the one with the fan in it?

Joey, those PT's look great, but are severly underpowered. You'll end up doing a whole bunch of mods. But they look like they'll carry a bunch of stuff. Try out the Golf with the turbo! Plus, decontent! Sun roof, don't need it, auto climate, don't need it, leather, don't need it, hot in summer cold in winter, bigger engine, need it, gotta have those priorities straight!

they arent delivering my TV today. I was told the shipping was COD (was not supposed to be) so I told the company that I would refuse delivery if that was so. They said they would call me back but then also decided not to deliver even though the dealer told me to pay for it and that they would overnight me payment (which is what I was going to tell them when they did call me back). Anyway, the truck is 2 fucking miles from my home and they are refusing to drop it off due to time constrants. What asses!! It's HERE! Or more correctly, the laptops at my wife's work! She left a message while I was having some lunch, now she's gone on her break. I think I'll have to leave work on time today! Oh new toy time, what to do first.

I once knew all the GI Joe and Cobra characters, had issues #1-5?. I'll guess chameleon, just an obvious guess.

I think it's almost time, although I think Trev should be the one that does the flip.
Or, how about this, only one post per person. No double posts for a running flip?

Lex,
I TRIED to tell them not to do it, but they MADE me post the picture! I told them, "C'mon guys, Lex is a good guy..." But Andrew, Bing, Rick, etc MADE me post it and threatened me horribly if I didn't. I had your back, but they beat me down!
That, or I was just bored today ;)

Wow, page 100! Have to get a post in on this page. I was so busy at work I didn't get to check in, last I saw we were on page 98! The double posting and running flips ate up those last two pages in a hurry!
Anyway, congrats to everyone on 100! :D

Congrats every one on 100!
Congrats on the new toy Paul!
Gregg, that is a major bummer on the TV!
Ok, this kinda pails in comparison to the spending frenzy on the TTP, but I bought a Bryston 3B from a old buddy. I really didn't need it, but the price was right. I may used this bridged to power the sub.

Thanks a lot Bing! I read that and choked on my Hamburger Helper (Zesty Italian no less) from laughing with my mouth full, heh. ;)
Ok, this kinda pails in comparison to the spending frenzy on the TTP, but..
That goes without saying. There is SO much money being spent on TTP upgrades right now that if you bought a BRAND NEW Porsche for double the sticker price it would STILL pail in comparison to how much is spent around here ;)
PS, congratz on the Bryston :B

Hello,,
Had to disappear for a while with more of those server errors..was locked out again.
Paul,,Congratz on the Laptop..It may be for your wife but I have a feeling that it will be yours for a few weeks,,you know that special set-up ,,tweak ,,TLC,,bonding time that all electronics desire that the female just can't give.
Joey,,That is one cool car..definatley has your name written all over it...I can just see Joey6P.com//TTP.. written up and down the sides of it.:)
Bing,,Cool news on the Bryston..should be a nice quality amp to add into your system...Ha Bings got the fever now...Lets go down to Audio Warehouse and I will help you shop.:)
Rick,,I just bought one SVS,,because I already have two Servo's which are very adaquete..I will put it into the back corner. I didn't really see much for specs on the Fidek,so not sure if it has a fan..I bypassed the powered subs for the fact they only have a 190 watt amp to drive them,,Didn't think this would be enough juice for my liking. The Servo's have 400 watt amps each.
Should I get two??..I can always call them back!
Kevin,,I can imagine the Peavey rocks!!,,I remember seeing that one in Greggs Rack!
Gregg,,Take care of my baby..What are your thoughts,,nice looking hey..I will have to make sure I don't have the 6200 in the box when I get it. I checked the status on the 5800 and looks like it hasn't been shipped yet.I will call tomorrow to find out why..They did have them in stock,,maybe the Thanksgiving Holiday slowed things down.
I picked up a pair of Reference Studio ADP's today so will be ready for EX/ES upon delivery..Can't wait.
As for A new Thread ,,let me know and I will start one up..I was just going to go simple like TTP 2.
