    Lector CDP-7TL

Has anyone had the opportunity to hear this CD Player, yet?

    Any opinions on this?

I'm not looking for you guys to make the decision for me, but I'd love to hear some thoughts or experiences.

I've added this player to my list of players, which are in the running for top billing in my system.

I've heard some wonderful things about these players.

Both come with seperate Power Supplies.

    The Lector CDP-7TL :

The CDP-7TL has a Tube Output Stage.

Then, there's another Lector player.....the Alpha Signature Toploader:

Hello Bam! I'm doing well, just working too much :B

        How are you doing?

I'm not sure what you mean by " chump de chump" , but here in the states, "chump" is not a term of endearment :B

Of course, if you meant it in a playfull manner......

The Lector CDP 7TL goes for around $3,200.00 US Dollars, not that Looney thing you guys have going on up in the Great White North :?? :scratchhead::alol:

The Arye CX-7 goes for around $3,000. 00

The Copland was quoted to me for a little over $2,000.00

The Vincent SD6, I have been quoted $1,300.00 and $1,600.00 from two different dealers.

Virtually eveything Bam! says on HT Guide is in a "playful manner". :>) I'm sure he meant nothing offensive by the phrase "chump de chump", any more than you did by calling Canada the "Great White North". (They probably don't consider "Looney" much of a compliment north of the border, either, but we know you meant that in fun, as well.)

FWIW, there's a site on the Internet that uses the term "chump" as an admiring synonym for "high roller" (someone who can afford to spend a lot of money on whatever they please). Maybe by "chump de chump" he means that someone who can afford such expensive-looking gear is in the enviable postion of being among the elite of audio "high rollers"? Or not. Only he knows for sure. :>)

Anyway, those are some impressive looking CD players!

            Thanks Burke.

Yeah, I knew he was just goofing around. That was my way of goofing back at him. :B

Although, I really didn't know in what context he was using "chump", I pretty much figured it was in a playfull manner. Just wanted to goof back at him, and find out what the term meant.

Just for the record, I don't fall into that "chump" catagory. I just save money for a very long time, then I search for the component I like the best. But I still have to work within a specific price range.

If I was a "chump" :B .........I'd be looking to purchase the Ayre D-1x CD/DVD Player, which runs anywhere from $8,500.00 - $11,000.00. The Arye K-1x Pre Amp.....which just about in the same price range. :E

Mabe even some of that fancy, szmancy McIntosh gear :B

As for Speakers, I'd probably get me one of those peeertty Dali Speakers...such as: The Euphonia MS 5

            Or.........One of these peeertty Aerials:

Ummmmm......In your "Home Theater Room" ? :B

You know David, I sure would love to see some pics of those babies:banana:

Which brings me to another thing.

Even though my system is currently disassembled and cleared out of the Living Room; I took some pics of my Quad 22L speakers last night, with my friends digital camera.

I'd like to post some of the pics here. What would be the best way? Is it possible to do it from my hard-drive? Is that safe? Or would it be better to find a site that would host the Pics?

I'd like for you guys to see this Yew finish. Got some pretty nice pics of the drivers .......also.

Just go down further on the page when you are posting to a thread and click the Manage Attachments button. That way you can attach the images directly to the post, they'll be stored on the HT Guide server, and they'll show as thumbnails immediately below your posted text.

Tony, this thread has some pictures of the Aerials (Santos rosewood finish) - not very good ones mind you. I've been saying I'm going to finish my HT website - guess I need to get off my a** and do it. :

Wow, that's a sweet finish on your Aerials!! Very Nice!!!

Very nice room......you have there!!! Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!

I also love to see the CDs and albums.

Love it when people show pics of their music and DVD collections.

I strongly recommend auditioning the Benchmark DAC1. Due to it's UltraLock circuitry having a high-end transport isn't necessary

I've been using one for a while with my Ayre K-5x and am very impressed with it's perfromance.

Besides buying anything from a company called Lector is just to scary

Well, I'm still waiting for my buddy to e-mail me the pics I took last night, of my Quad 22L.

He forgot to bring the patchcord with him, to transfer the pics from camera to computer.
