Hey gang...I'm either crazy, bored, or just want to redo my "largest" goof on my theater contruction...that I did not build my riser "high" enough. I framed my riser out of 2x6's and put one layer of flooring down and carpet and pad of course...here's a picture:
Having learned my lesson, I would have built a 10-12" riser...but such is life and not doing enough research when I first started construction compared to later on in the process.
Anyway, what I'm thinking of doing now is to essentially build another smaller platform/riser that would go ontop of the existing one and still house the four theater seats. I'll probably build another 2x6 platform so that would bring me to about 12" that I originally should have done. I'll probably cover it in black carpet too...kinda look cool to have another riser, a black one, over a carpeted area that is red with a black border! 8)
Plus, I may wire in a transducer into the new riser for some extra "shackin" back there! :P
I could probably get that project licked in a weekend...we'll see! Just thought I'd share with you guys for your comments...I do know folks that come visit would appreciate the extra viewing heigth...even though I've positioned the seats so you can see between folks in the front row...this way everyone would have great views and noone would feel left out of th action!
