Hello all. Well ever since you first heard that I was building a house you knew I was going to also finish a room in my "unfinished basement" to use as our HT room. Well it's begun, and here's what it looks like today:
The dimensions of the room are 12x18x8.
This is a "side view" looking through the right wall. You can see the rear riser in the back and the doorway on the right. Screen wall is also located on the right.
This is was taking standing on the riser and looking at the screen wall. At the top you'll see I framed down and boxed in the heating duct that runs accross the front wall/ceiling...creating a nice little soffet. You'll also notice a rectangular opening on the right and that is where my equipment rack will go. The 4 foot opening "dead center" is where my 46" RPTV will go. I'm flush mounting all gear and TV into the wall so later (hopefully within a year) when I go front projection the screen will be able to descend right infront of the HDTV!
These two pics show you the right front of the room and right back of the room. Do I need a wide angle or what! :x
And these two show you, you guessed it, the left front and back of the room.
Here's a shot of the back of the theater with my finished riser (actually I still need to add the trim piece on the "lip" of the riser but it's almost there). No worries gents, the window will be completely covered so don't think I'll be getting any glare/light in this room! 8)
Lastly, my HT chairs. Sorry I didn't show you the side's (there hiding behind the backs) but they're your basic sidearms...of which I'll be updating with cupholder armrests! :T
So far I have about 20 hours into the room. Next up is building the stage, stand for my HDTV, and equipment rack.
I plan on building a website that tracks all my fun here, so I'll be posting that address later for anyone interested. Thanks for viewing and as usual, I'd love any comments!
