Tripp Lite LCR240 input needed as power line conditioner

Just curious if anyone could give some feedback on the Tripp Lite LCR2400. It seems to do the same as the Monster AVS2000 but at a fraction of the cost.($375CDN) definitely has the power output to handle a hungry HT. Here's a link.

    DESCRIPTION

Tripp Lite's LCR2400 automatic voltage regulation system offers complete protection from brownouts, overvoltages and transient surges in a convenient rackmount format using only 3 rack spaces (3U). Transformer-based voltage correction circuits maintain usable 120V nominal AC output during brownouts as low as 87V and overvoltages to 140V. Network grade equipment protection offers AC surge and noise suppression. Supports heavy loads up to 2400 watts. Includes 14 NEMA5-15R output receptacles (2 front, 12 rear), 12-ft. line cord and 7 diagnostic LEDs that display incoming voltage level. $25,000 Ultimate Lifetime Insurance (USA & Canada Only).

No do not use this device for audio/HT.

Ferroresonant transformers are not designed for the dynamic loads created by music/soundtrack transients.

FWIW the 2400 also 'sounds' terrible, I know I tried one a decade ago, and no they haven't changed the design since then. Stereophile also gave it 2 thumbs down.

It works well for it's designed use and that is computers.
