    Red Planet

I just watched Red Planet with the wife yesterday. I was impressed. This is a better movie than people realize. It's way different than Mission to Mars. I think the only thing the two have in common is that they are on Mars. Other than that, the storylines go different ways. This made for a pleasant surprise.

I'm surprised, I went to see it today (monday) my opinion was very different.
I was hoping for SF, but all I got was an action movie set on Mars. Every scene was over the top, everything to convenient, and of course everything is done "in the nick of time".
Some great ideas executed very poorly.
For my tastes, this was the worst of the SF movies this year...although, this was not a sci-fi movie, strictly hollywood action hype.
Pure hollywood, good thing it was matinee pricing, I only spent about 2 bucks to much

Best part of today's movie experience was seeing the D&D trailer...never was a fan of the game, but I've always enjoyed a good fantasy, and with the Dragons, this could be a rip roarin' good time!!!
