February promises to be a wallet busting month, indeed!

"My Big Fat Greek Wedding" is one that could have easily ended up a near direct-to-video release but instead became a big hit -- should be just as fun on DVD as audiences have found it in the commercial theater.

If the DVD of "Road to Perdition" looks anywhere near as good as the film did on the big screen, it will automatically ascend to the top of the heap of demo DVDs, at least for video image. If I've ever seen a movie that was better looking or more artistic in its composition and framing, use of light and shadow, attention to period detail, (and all in the service of the story), I can't think of it right now..,.. and the movie itself is engaging enough that people will want to watch it for more than just its beautiful cinematography. A "must buy".

PS -- I'm glad that "Minority Report" and "Barbershop" will both be released this month. Merry Xmas! :>)

There's at least six or seven on that list that are must owns for me, especially Road To Perdition. And I am dying to replace my laserdisc ws version of Thelma and Louise with an anamorphic dvd.

            02/18/2003 - M*A*S*H: Season 3
Since the sets for both the first and second seasons were "knock outs", (thank goodness they found the European soundtracks of all the early episodes which excluded the laugh track in time to include with both sets), the third season set will be a "must buy" as well.

Burke, I didn't know that about the soundtracks. Not having the canned laugh track bumps the TV-based sets way up on the priority list. Road To Perdition started out on the top of the list.
