The only duplicate that I have is the original Die Hards and the new Die Hards.

Up until last weekend, I had A Bugs Life, and the SE of A Bugs Life, but I gave the original away.

Other than that, I've been pretty good about not picking up duplicates. Though there have been times where I saw a good deal and wanted to just buy it, but I knew I already owned it.

I think duplicate buying, where there has been an improvement is not so bad. Hey, new trasnfer, new extra's, etc. But it's bad when you buy the exact same disc.

      Paul,

So far my dupes have been improvements - in all cases to an anamorphic image at least. Anamorphic wasn't important until I bought a 58" 16:9 RPTV - then it got REAL important!

They only dupes I have is by mistake. For example, I recently bought A Bridge Too Far only to find out I already had this.
I do, however, have titles both on laserdisc and dvd, though this number is shrinking because I have sold most of these recently.

Way too many (similar list to David's) and more in the works. Somethings I've held off on, like the Pearl Harbor disk, knowing a "Directors Cut" would be out this year.

            Regards,

Thanks JonMarch for reminding me that a director's cut of Pearl Harbor is coming out soon, need to pick one up. I duplicated Fifth Element when the SuperBit came out. I am having a hard time convincing my wife that it is "necessary" to dupe T2, Bugs life, Apocolyps Now, The Abyss, Twister and a couple of others.

Wellll, then, you've just gotta sneak them in when she's not looking, you know, spend your lunch money or something!

Those of us into this stuff this way do get looked on oddly by some of our family and friends.

Speaking of duplicates, let's not mention all the "remastered" CD's I've bought in the last few years.

                Regards,

                Jon

Ooops, forgot that I have The Mummy and The Ultimate Mummy.

I agree with Jon, what you do is buy the new edition and switch cases. So you've got the old at work and the new at home. :W Or, "Hey honey, guess what Jon lent me from work!"

Next month, "Dear, don't you have to return that to Jon?"
"Um, no, he got fired and moved away."

                    Isn't that the truth! :

But, you know, the first time I fire up the 58" Elite with T2 or Lawrence Of Arabia or one of the other demo quality DVDs most of the "you're crazy" looks disappear - real fast.

HEY! I like the "switching the DVD/case" idea Paul Wu, I think that'll definately work for now. Sounds like you had some experiences here my good friend ^_^
