If you going to buy Pearl Harbor read this

The Digital Bits is showing two covers for this movie, the first streets in December...BUT the second is listed as the Director's cut, has a different case and streets on 1/15/2002.
So be aware there will be a longer version streeting a month later.
I haven't read any details, but when I do I'll post them here.

I remember reading about the special edition, it takes a different slant, (if I remember correctly), tones down the romance factor, ups the war factor, along the gore factor, and goes to an "R" rating. Or maybe I just had heartburn from pizza and dreamed the whole thing. But I think you'll find it's along those lines. That might actually make it a better movie, in which case, it might then be worth buying... might.

Picked up the "Tailor of Panama" this weekend, but haven't had time to watch- leaving on another mileage building business travel binge Monday. Somedays I wonder why I do what I do for a living.

Let us know, Kenny, if you find out more particulars about the Pearl Harbor SE.

    Regards,

    Jon

I can't wait 'til January. I'll get the theatrical version and buy the SE later. The trailers for this film had me drooling. I know it's mostly CGI, but so was Jurassic Park.

I liked the theatrical version...I'm not sure I'd want to see them go away from the romantic slant. I felt the theatrical release was well balanced. To take that away will detract from the ending.

I didn't see it at the theater so, I'm hoping to like it enough to purchase it.
