    Tomb Raider...

Yes, I gave in to all the hype.
Yesterday I walked into the theater, popcorn in hand, figuring I'd be surrounded by noisy kids. Boy was I surprised! I don't think I heard one peep out of anyone in there.
This is "inspired" by the video game of the same name, so you realize right from the start it's going to be way over the top, and it is. However, I did find this one entertaining from the start to the finish. Jolie is very good as Lara Croft. The sets are awesome, but in the end this is a pure popcorn flick. If that's what your mood is, then you'll find this one fun, I did.
The image was extra sharp, this may create a new DVD standard then it comes out.
It's worth about $5,50...so if you go during a matinee you'll get your money's worth...Kenny

This won't get me into the theater, but it will definitely end up in my dvd collection. BTW, I understand this did 48 million on its opening weekend.Looks like this will be a big moneymaker.

As these movies go, I suppose it should be a moneymaker, it's the best game-to-screen movie I've ever seen.

Well, you know, old Ebert liked it, so it must have some redeeming characteristics. I only played the first Tomb Raider game, it was bundled with a 3DFx video card I bought years ago. But I'm a sucker for some game to movie conversions- I even like the Wing Commander movie- but then, I never claimed to have taste, as long as there's decent GGI. Looks like I'll have to see this one, too.

        Regards,

        Jon
