    Spotted a B&W in a movie....

Was looking at movie trailers (I'm desperate for a new movie, lol) and seen what looks like a CM1 in the movie "In the Loop".

    Is that a CM1?

      Fine!

      There's a Rotel set-up too.

I think it's normal: B&W and Rotel are in the same group since some years.

is it bad that I immediately say to myself "I should watch that" just so I can try to spot the B&W?

                                Product placement.

It may be a B&W or a Meridian but it is still a product placement. In this day and age that is always the most likely scenario. Like that guy in the Italian job going on about his hifi that could blow women's clothes off and the CD player in Hi Fidelity (both NAD if I recall correctly). Re the hidden nameplate, Meridian probably refused to pay, or were approached after the fact and did not want to be associated with the movie
