Here's a link to yet another photo album of the photos I took at the Atlanta DIY 2003 event held this past Saturday.

I especially like the subwoofer made in a 5 gallon paint container. How did it sound? Was it for a full scale HT system or for a computer system? Seems like it would make a killer computer subwoofer.

      Nice projects.

The speaker using a paint can for the enclosure was not a subwoofer, but a "normal" full range speaker. I can't recall it sounding all that bad. It was one of the first speakers I listened to, but after listing to 20 pairs of speakers, they all sort of blur together.

Interesting systems, Pat! Thanks for posting the link to us!

These DIY meets are interesting and fun; I had a great time at the Northern CA DIY this year at Mark K's. Even those just considering DIY speakers should try attending a meet in their area; it could be very educational, including getting the opportunity to meet "experienced locals".

I think we may have had a tie for the unusual with the "trashcan speaker " at Atlanta, at No. CA DIY with the Carlson Pipe Hartley system! Creativity and thinking outside the box!

          Best regards,

          Jon
