Hi guys,
Spent a fair amount of the weekend building a new chasis for the electronic crossover for the X1 Klones- it never really fit in the original single rack high chasis (some caps and regulator heatsinks were too tall), plus I made the decision to go to full transformer balanced outputs, using some Dean Jensen transformers (-3 dB points at 0.1Hz and 15 MHz)- these AREN'T small transformers for line level!
After some research, I found some chasis at SESCOM, black anodized sides, bottom and top, clear anodized fronts and backs, modular construction, and a double rack height chasis, about 13" deep, was only around $60.00. I'm about 3/4 finished with the conversion, next week I should have the web site up and can post images.
If you're into doing electronics projects, or even if you want something prettier for an existing project/piece that a little utilitarian (my Marchand passive preamp comes to mind), these could be the way to go.
