    Loudspeaker "break-in"

    This is a subject on which there are many opinions(some contradictory).
    Rather than post this thread in one of the other forums(where some "golden-eared" egoists may reply), I'm asking this group
    "Other than the effects of a driver's surround "loosening up", what other physical (rather than psychoacoustic) effects are taking place? -chas

    Driver 'break in' is basically nothing more than a relaxing of the tensions in the various speaker components (primarily the surround and spider); and the tensions resulting from the assembly process created by the adhesives that hold the components together..

    With cone drivers break in is both audible and measurable. The T/S parameters change.
