Unfortunately the planar elements used by Wisdom are not available to the DIY market. Although made by B&G the elements are proprietary to Wisdom's systems.

Well, with the bottom-of-the-line Baby Adrenaline costing $14,000 US, I don't think I'll be playing any time soon. 8O

Yes, I was joshing about a clone .

$600,000 for the big boys is rather impressive though.

Complete system weight for the "baby" Infinite version is 2700 lbs? Geeeez, that makes my planned RD50 with midwoof and quad DPL12's look like a desktop system!

I do have to wonder about the bang for the buck ratio, here. OTOH, I've never heard the Wisdom ribbons, the big deal (I understand) is a more extended high end and more zoot diaphragm material than the standard B&G ribbons. Note that there are three ribbon line sources used, the upper one's crossed over at 600 Hz. Hmmm, sounds familiar.

Sure wish I didn't have to deal with a day job, could get a lot more done in the DIY world otherwise! :W I have all the drivers and tools now for the new system, but I've got to finish a couple of other things that I started first.

          Regards,

          Jon

            zoot diaphragm material
I bet that zoot material, no matter how esoteric, doesn't compare in sound accuracy to my favorite: Tibetan Yak foreskin.

Yes, these day jobs are very demanding/consuming...

Yeah, that's great stuff, but try getting it in a 75" long strip!! That's why the typical application is limited to soft dome tweeters, I hear... :rf

Only progress I'm making on the line arrays right now is revising the CAD drawings on the train... just about have the new woofer cabinet drawings done, (2 DPL12 per side, 30" high), then will finish the new line array cabinet plans.

tsk, tsk, tsk. 10,000 comedians out of work and an engineer tries to be funny. :naughty:

Hey, I noticed a Vifa TC14WG69-08 5.5" on the Madisound sale page ($14.50) in case it's of interest to anyone:

Naw, I think you got that mixed up. It's 10,000 engineers out of work, and our management think's they're comedians. Or that it's funny. Something like that. :?

David, it seems like rough weeks lately, not rough days. Maybe it's just growing older, but I don't think so! :

                      Hmm . .

For a licensing fee, you could use my patented spiral flaying technique, able to yield a 60"x1/2" strip of peel off a single orange.

Urg, think I just pushed the thread over the line into gruesome.
