Help with Ceiling Boxes for In-Ceiling Speakers

I purchased 6 pair of B&W CCM-650 on Ebay, and really cant spend the money on the b&W boxes which go in the ceiling.

I was thinking I at least need to box off the joists in the ceiling. But should I throw some insulation in, or line the box with something?

After boxing them in, I would say fill it with some poly-fill or acoustic foam.

      I second Lou's advice.

I had many CCM-65s in my last house (new construction) and when they were ready to put the sheetrock up, not all of the back boxes had arrived so we were forced to frame a couple of pair in. Poly-fil is what I went with and it was fine.

When in installed my in-walls (B&W CWM-650), I ordered some acoustic cotton batting from the site below to fill the walls around the speaker. These don't come with boxes, but the batting seems to provide a huge improvement.

When I ordered mine, it was fairly cheap for one piece (around $29). I don't see that option currently, but I guess that's why it's a 'surplus' store.
