New Speakers Create New Clone opportunities!

Maybe, add your own to the thread, food for thought.

Here's the Aerial 20Ts, wouldn't they make a beautiful diy project? :B I think Jon and Thomas could build for a tad under 20K.

Those would look great in rosewood (my favorite), but I'm looking forward to the high end line array myself.

THese are somewhat similar to the Joseph Audio Pearl, excepting the more exotic ribbon tweeter used here, and different mid woofers and woofers.

Obviously, there's a certain lineage or commonality between these and the venerable Wilson Watt/Puppy combo, now in version 7.

Now, these might be interesting to take a stab at, but as Hank says, I've got this line array thingie I really ought to finish.

Besides, we've already "Kloned" one Aerial speaker, their sub, with the "Aerial Stryke" sub, which, using an HE15 woofer, is truly raising the bar compared with the original Aerial sub using a TC Sounds 12" driver. Ya know, we have to bring something to the party to make it worth while....

Also, I like to pick speakers to "klone" that I'm more in sympatico with some aspect of the original design or esthetic. If I was going to do something with a similar set of drivers to the 20T's, I think I'd opt for a more Avalon style cabinet, but then, that's just my audio DNA at work... you know, a little like the sentinal combined with a more conventional top module; two Aurasound 12's on the bottom, a metal midwoofer, and I'm not sure what I'd go with on the top.

Yeah, the Pearl reminds me even more of the Watt Puppy. How much do the Pearl sell for anyway?

I knew you'd have your own ideas Jon, but this would go well with that Aerial stryke sub!
