What speakers do you have hooked up to your Rotel Amp

I am a newbie to the Rotel forum and have been quite happy with the info that has been shared amongst all the members.

I have just purchased an RSP-1066 (with the higher bandwidth board) and an RB-1080. I presently have a pair of PSB 500's hooked up and I now think that it is about time I upgraded them as they are rather old now. I think about 5 years old.

I have been looking at the PSB Stratus line and the Paradigm Studio line as they fall into the price range that I am willing to pay. Does anyone have either one of these speakers in their system? If so, how do you like the sound? Any suggestions on other speakers.

I have a pair of B&W CDM 9NTs hooked up to a RB-1080 and they should awesome. PSBs are some nice speakers for the money also.

          My current setup is -

          B&W 603s3 mains
          B&W 602s2 centre
          B&W 601s2 rears
          Def Tech PF1500 sub

          I'm involved in a tradeup program(100% within a years time), so eventually I will have Nautilus 804's, 805's, and HTM1 or HTM2.

In the long run I think I would like to upgrade to B&W speakers also. Currently I have Infinity Kappa series all around.

I know nothing about B&W except that everytime I have heard them they have been fantastic. Is the Nautilus series the final step for you? In other words, would they be your ultimate B&W speaker setup or do you plan to upgrade again (or are they the top-of-the-line B&Ws?)

OMG! I just looked at the B&W site. The 804/805 combination along with the HTM1 lists at $7500... That will be a beautiful system and a huge upgrade over your existing speakers!

              Over my budget though... :-(

I think I would have to go with something like the 7NT/1NT/CNT combination which lists for $3800.

              Ahhhh..... dreaming again.....

                    I'm using all Klipsch speakers:

                    KG 5.2's R/L
                    KG 4.2's Surrounds
                    KG 2.2v Center
                    KSB 3.1's Rear Centers

The KG's are powered by a 985mkII and the KSB's are powered by my 1055. A new 1070 amp is going to power the 5.2's after Christmas . Then the 985mkII will power the rest.

                        RSP-1066+ RMB-1095 + RB-1050

                        Paradigm Studio-100 Studio-40 Studio-20 Studio-CC Servo-15

I live in Canada, so there is no other choice...All those speakers for around 5000$ CDN (around 3300$ US hehehe) 8)
To spend more $$$ on electronics without first addressing room acoustics is fruitless IMO.

I have the RSP 1066, RB 1090 and RMB 1075. My speakers include:

PSB Stratus Golds driven by the 1090 - very smooth and dynamic.

PSB Inwall surrounds and PSB Image 4ts in a second room soon to be driven by the 1075.

In my opinion you cannot go wrong with a Rotel/PSB Stratus combination!

Well my system is only powered by Rotel now, not processed yet! RMB1075 provides power for Paradigm Studio 40's x 4 and a Studio CC. An RMB951mkII powers a pair of rear Paradigm ADP370's.

The system I put together for my Dad has
                                              2x Ohm Walsh 4s ( they can drop below a 2 ohms load )
                                              2x Ohm Walsh 2s
                                              1x Ohm G1
                                              RMB-1075 as AMP, RSP-1066 as pro/pre

I plan on upgrading my on system with 2x RB-1070 or a RMB-1075
I'm using 4x Magnepan MG12s in my own setup.

Well my system is only powered by Rotel now, not processed yet! (soon to come )An RB 985MK2 provides power for JBL TI-5000 (fronts), JBL TI-k2 (center) and JBL XTI60 (rears). My Denon receiver provided the power for the surroundrears, JBL 300 (oldies).

The sources are Denon DVD3800 and a Denon Tu-s10 tuner.

8O I use a Marantz AV9000 to control a 985THXmk2 that pushes 5 NHT Super Ones (1@center) with a 981 driving a SVS 2039; Very, very accurate almost too much so. Great for music but a little hard sounding for HT because the sound is so controled that it makes some movie sound tracks appear kind of fake sounding, they better get it right or this combo will expose it for what it is, good examples are Windtalker and Once We Were Soldiers, of the 2 Soldiers has the better sound track it is more realistic, gunshots and vocals are better integrated and seemless while Windtalker is distracting because the vocals appear to be added on and it comes across with a unrealistic sound. I cannot describe what I mean as a bigtime reveiwer might, but maybe you Rotelites or is it Rotelians understands. . .

After starting this topic about a month ago, I am amazed at the variety of speaker hooked up to Rotel. Alot of B & W fans out there. I was unable to audition B & W as there is no dealer where I live. I ultimately decided on sticking with PSB and the price was right.

I now have PSB Stratus Goldi for my mains and the Stratus 6Ci (piano black.... WOW) for my centre. I moved the PSB500's to the rear and they are surprisingly a good match to the mains. So I will stick with those until I can come up with a replacement for the rears.

I had also considereed the Paradigm Studio/100's but preferred the sound of the PSB's. I ran a 20khz - 20hz sweep to the golds and was amazed that I could still here these babies at 22hz. They are a great accompaniment to my Velodyne 15 sub.

Thanks for all of your suggestions and keep on posting as I am sure other Rotelians would like to know what kind of speakers are being used.

All the Mirages are bi-amp with the RSX972 going to the HF and the 985 going to the LF. Anyone know how the RSX972 compares to the RSP1066 or RSP976 as a pre/pro? I connected the 972 alone to the Mirage without the 985 and found that it did the job OK. But with the 985 AND the 972, the sound became awesome!
