    Another Kind Of DIY

It's not speakers or electronics, but it IS home-theater DIY. This is a project that I've been working on for some friends for quite a while and it's about done - yeah!

It's 9'-0" wide, 6'-7" tall and 2'-7" deep. All that's left is the doors and the finish coats. It rides on 8 wheels and goes around a 65" 16:9 Mitsubishi DiamondVision. The bottom two shelves are fixed, but the three above are adjustable in 1" increments. It's made out of 3/4" red oak cabinet-grade plywood.

Eduardo, I sat down with our friends and got what they wanted as far as style, storage and stuff, took down the dimensions of their RPTV and componenets, then drew up plans.

Pr@, those shots were after about 3 hours of cleaning and vacuuming! Plus which, I have to leave enough room for Jen to put her 4-Runner in there.

It's a one-piece! Fortunately, the door it goes in is a 42" wide, 8'-0" tall one and there are NO hallway corners to turn. Heavy? Yeah it's about 300-350 pounds, but on 8 wheels, it rolls really well.
