And at $41,500 US per pair and 400 lbs each, this is as close as I'll ever come to a pair. :cry:

That's ok David, just because they look pretty and cost a bundle doesn't mean they sound good. There is a audio store in Santa Monica called Optimal Enchantment that is owned by a fellow that I occasionally bicycle with and attend his yoga class. I went by there a couple of weeks ago to see what albums he had for sell and was surprised to see a pair of JM Utopias sitting in his demo room, a speaker I had always wanted to hear. Randy had them hooked up to a pair of AR 300 watt reference mono blocks, a AR reference pre amp and a top of the line Oracle turntable. Together we listened to a few cuts off of several albums. I couldn't beleive what a poor speaker these things were, he quickly hooked up a pair of Vandersteen 2ce's ( I think these are only about a thousand maybe two thousand dollars, hardly Vandersteens best) and they sounded much better than the $30,000 JMs.- Bottom
