    Midwest DIY 2002

    Had some fun yesterday...
Went to the Midwest DIY 2002 meet.
Got to listen to many different speaker types and designs.
There was even an informal judging, all speakers were spl matched with pink noise and then a short 10-12 min of different song clips were played.

I can't remember all the details for all the designs.

    Photos here

I even won a pair of Dayton 6.5" shielded woofers

Any suggestions of the best way to utilize them?
Could I make some little bo*e killers with them?

Thanks for the link, Pat. A lot of interesting looking MTM's at the meet, from the looks of it - and a pretty nice large room for the event, too.

There have been a couple of events of sorts in the Bay area this year, but my "mandatory" travel schedule has prevented me from attending anthing so far.

Maybe sometime we'll be able to persuade ThomasW to help organize or host a meet in the Colordado area- with the peculiar life I live, I actually might be more likely to make that one!

    Best regards,

    Jon

Any favorites or standouts from what you heard during the listening sessions? What kind of gear were they running?

Just back from "sunny Seattle" last night... of course, being Seattle, it wasn't very sunny!

Had a nice surprise with a stack of 4 new Adire DPL12 woofers. I'll take some pics tonight (hopefully) and post later.

          These were my two favorites.

From the looks of things I wasn't the only one

This is the equipment that was used:
          Preamp: Quicksilver Audio Linestage (Tube)
          Amplifier: NAD 214
          CD Source: Roksan Kandy KC-1

Looks like Vlad had some serious competition, but buried them with driver quality and development!
