 I love building speakers. The challenge for me is finding enough time to do it. Because of this, my projects tend to proceed in periods of great activity, followed by days of nothing. My current AV-1 project for my daughter is like that. The cabinets are almost done, I have the crossovers built, and I have put leads on all the drivers. Now comes my recent setback. I soldered on all the leads so that everything is ready to drop in once the cabinets are fully finished. But, I don't want any dust settling on the drivers so, I take them out of the shop into the office and lay them on the desk. Last night I discovered that Smokey, the damn fuzzy butted cat in our house has been in the office and layed down to nap right on top of one of the silk dome tweeters. You got it, it's flattened. So today, I get to call up and order a replacement. GRRRRRRR>>>
I did use a vacuum and pull the dome back up but it has small rinkles now. It would probably work, but I fear some rough response. I'll save it for an emergency spare I guess.
I should have sealed that cat in my Tempest sub when I had the chance. "Gee honey, I haven't seen him in days, I don't know where he could be" BWAHAHAHAHAHAH!!
