A simple plate amp box project.

Here's my mini-weekend project that's almost done, still need one more clear coat to finish the paint job:

    The PAB: Plate Amp Box.

Who knew a simple box for a plate amp could be so time consuming...

    Pat,

As always, great photo documentation! BTW, the links for photos 33 and 34 don't seem to work for me.

There's a note that those pix haven't been taken yet.

Oh, great! Now I have to learn English too!

Actually, I saw that note on photo 35. I guess my mind is pretty preoccupied with this whole BellSouth layoff thing.

Pl@, great photo's again! I would say that your doc's & photos are some of the best anywhere! :T It's amazing how little you spent to create a power souce for an efficient sub.

Brian, I heard about the impending BellSouth layoffs, scary times.

Rick, thanks! It's does feel like larceny sometimes building these small little projects...

Now...anyone want to buy a noisy fan-cooled Pro amp (Peavey CS800X)?

I've finished the PAB, and you can see the final few shots at the same link from the first post in this thread.

                Pat,

Hey, I see those pics now! BTW, is there a specific reason why you used the Painter's Touch primer and paint? Is it a preference thing or a cost thing?

The primer was just something I had leftover from last year. I tested the combo of that primer with the lacquer, and nothing bad occured, so I felt safe in proceeding to use the primer/lacqure combination.

I knew I needed primer because the edges of MDF really do soak up paint.

It's just stuff you find at Home Depot. Should I have used a different type of primer for Rustoleum lacquer paint?

                    Pat,

I was only asking since I've never used that particular product. Knowing you like I do, I assumed that you either bought it because you thought it was a superior product or because the price was right.

Or....it was just there when I went looking for paint!
