Is Stuffng Factored into Box Tuning?

Sorry if this is rudimentry, I can't seem to remember, is suffing or lining material factored into the enclosure tuning? If polyfill is said to add between 5-10% volume, how is it accounted for in tuning the port?

I would think that it isn't factored in as this is to tough to account for.

No, just design with no "perceived" increase in box volume due to stuffing.

Sealed enclosures are "stuffed" Loosely filled with "fluffed" damping material. Generally at a fill rate of 1/2-1 lb/cu ft

Ported enclosures are first "lined". Stuffing can be added later if necessary.

It's not all that important for "net volume" calculations.

I hear that some suppliers tell all there customers to "stuff it". But not Parts Express! They only tell you to stuff it, if you really need to!
