        Hi Andrew,

I sent you an email too. I'm looking for v2.2.3.

Did rotel mention the new software for flashing or are we still to telnet?

Sorry to be redundant but I thought the forum might benefit from seeing my question answered on the board.

        Cheers,
        John

Well, it took some time, but this is a perfect list of firmware revision history! Compliments on Rotel.

The only firmware's I have are for the older 1055 and 1066's. If you need a 2.X firmware I'd suggest emailing Mike Sheehan at msheehan@equityaudio.com and requesting the latest version

Thank you Andrew for your help. Keep up the good work!

I feel like a newb ops: , but what do you mean by "HD unit". HD??
To spend more $$$ on electronics without first addressing room acoustics is fruitless IMO.

Yes Andrew, you the man! One question. If I have firmware 2.20, do I have to do 2.21 first, then 2.23 or can I just go from 2.20 to 2.23.

I don't see why you couldn't jump right to the latest firmware.

The HD units are the version that are shipping now. Due to a shortage in a part Rotel was forced to slightly alter the components used so they had to rewrite the firware so that it worked like the first version did. They've assured me that there's no difference between them as far as features or performances goes.

Hold down the mute button till the firmware is displayed on the display.

To flash the firmware take a look at the thread I bumped up the other day it contains all you need to know.

Thanks Andrew...it turned out I have f/w v.1.5.1 I feel that there is no immediate benefit to flash it at this point, but will follow your instruction in building the cable. I noticed that only 1066 owner can request the cable from Rotel, do they have a different f/w upgrade plan for the 1065 owners? fh

As far as I know its the same cable used for all Rotel models so I don't see why you couldn't request or make that cable as shown in that thread.

Do you have any idea what the EPROM change is? I convinced a friend to buy the 1065 back in May and he has the older EPROM/Firmware.

Wilson, let you friend take a look at his firmware. First the setup menu. If he has an old version, the menu will have the version number on the first screen at the bottom (that's v1.1 or v1.2 or v1.3)

If his menu doesn't show the version#, then press the remote mute button for a few seconds until firmware version shows in the display and look what it says. Then I can tell you if a eeprom change is needed.

Thanks Arnold I'm not as familar with that model as the 1055/1066's so I'll defer to Arnolds expertise on this one.

1.48 is still in the beta testing phase. Its addressed some of our concerns but early reports are that there's still a few items that need addressing...obviously though since its still in beta nothings final yet. I'll let you all know as soon as it goes public.

I got it monday emailed to me from Rotel and updated my Dad's 1066 from 1.37 to 1.48.

The big bug that I had before ( with 1.37 ) was the Terminater 2: U. E. - DTS ES chapter change temp audio drop outs bug. I think that the Sunfire Pro/pre III and U Rev had similer bug.

                                              Update: this bug is fixed
