    Remote issue (RSX-1057)

    Hi all...
This is my first post here and I must say there is a wealth of knowledge in here!
I just purchased my first Rotel piece an RSX-1057
I am coming form a Marantz SR7200 and I am more than impressed! I have one small problem though that I cannot figure out for the life of me...the remote.
My problem is changing imput modes via the remote. It worked fine the first day I had the receiver, now all I get is a repeating beep sound when I hold any of the imput buttons down. All of the other buttons work without any issues.
Has anyone else had this problem? I'm wondering if the problem is with the remote or the receiver?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like a remote issue. Have you programmed any of the buttons yet? In either case try doing a reload/reset to see if it clears up.

I did re-label the V1 and V2 inputs. I used page 2 on the remote for this.
I have reset the remote to the factory settings but still no luck.

I Have this problem a little too; I did a search and found this thread,
to see if it had come up.

Every button beeps, and you have to hold the button down until it changes,
right? video1 is the worst, sometimes it just won't switch. ALso when
you switch an input it changes the remote to that component, you have
to hit AUD again to get back to the 1057. Sometimes if the 1057 doesn't
switch I can't tell if the remote is even talking "1057" still or has
already switched itself to the new component (none are programmed,
        so nothing happens)

I was thinking of making my login name "beep beep beep" I hear it all
the time. Strangest remote i've seen.

Is it normal IR frequency? I have a programmable IR thingy for the computer
and it doesn't seem to learn from this remote, the signal seems to have gaps
or be pulsed or something weird.

I think I'll take the remote back to the store, see if it seems normal there
