    RLC 1040/1080 maker?

I was noticing that the power centers made by rotel have an APC sticker or label on them below the LCD window. I also know that there is an international company called APC that specifically makes electrical power centers/conditioners, cables, swiches, etc. for the home and for industrial purposes. Is there any conection between the two companies?? In other words, does APC make the units for Rotel? Not that it really makes a difference to me - I just am curious and want a 1040 unit. APC looks like a very reputible company.

Check out the following website if your are not familiar with APC:
APC, a flagship brand of Schneider Electric, provides clean battery back-up power, surge protection, and IT physical infrastructure inside and outside the traditional IT environment to deliver ‘Certainty in a Connected World’

The Rotel units are indeed rebadged APC units with a modified to match Rotel, design motif. It's pretty common knowledge and is, I believe, even mentioned in Rotel's literature on them. APC is indeed a VERY reputable company and was a wise choice for Rotel to team with IMO

      Answer solved!

OK, never mind, I found this by (more) closely reading the literature on the Rotel site.

"That‘s why Rotel has partnered with APC AV, Engineered Power
SolutionsTM, to develop two advanced new power line conditioners
that will protect and enhance your listening and viewing
enjoyment of your valuable home entertainment systems."

So why is rotel charging $100 for their product - for the name?

People will pay extra for something that matches the look of the rest of their Rotel gear. You can always try bartering on the price as well
