    Restoring Default from a Preset

Finally, I have a question for the esteemed B&K club.

On the Ref 30 (et al), I observed the following: I saved and use a Preset to listen to a CD - select DVD and Stereo 5 and drop the Rear speaker level to -3 (my favorite CD listening setting). I put in a DTS or some other DVD and the B&K 'senses' the change to DTS, etc - but retains the Preset levels - specifically, the -3 db rear speaker level. For the DVD, I'd like the level to be 'normal'. Interestingly, the Stereo 5 does go to Dolby 5 or DTS or whatever.

So, the question - what are the ways to 'defeat' or restore 'normal settings' after a preset is used. I think power on/off does this. Does changing sources? I think the volumes, etc are retained there too. I think the best option might be to set a Preset to 'restore' my changes and recall that prior to switching from CD to DVD, etc.

    What are your experiences?

    thanks,

    John

I love presets. I would re-call another preset to re-establish your default preferences

      Jerry,

Thanks, that's basically what I ended up doing. I'm just getting enough 'preferences' to have a need for presets. I'm pretty much a 2 channel (CD) listener - not much to do there, or i'm listening to whatever movie we have around - they sound pretty good in 'native' format as well.

Whatever I listen to, the B&K sounds great!

      Thanks again,

      John
