    Superman DVD and the AV32R

Hey all, I posted this on the TAG Mclaren forum on their website, but felt I should post it here too as I am unsure if this is a problem with the disc, or possibly the V3.2 software upgrade on the AV32R.

I got Superman DVD today, all plays fine except for the trailers and TV spot on the disc, they make the TAG go completely nutty, it franticaly takes on a life of its own and hops though various different decoding stages causing a god awful digital breakup noise to come out through the speakers. After a few moments it stops the AV32R dead, there is no sound until you switch the TAG off and on again.

    Any thoughts? Buzz?

    No idea!
Likely something quite strange on the disc.
Is it Region 1? we never see anything but Region 1 discs here...

Yes the region1, (I wont buy any other region). The trailers just make the AV32R go completely nuts...

The official release of the disc is tomorrow, so if anyone else with the AV32R is getting it, please respond here.

I don't believe this, it does it on Superman II DVD too!!!!!!!!!! Again, on the trailer only. Film is fine, but again, the mono trailer (like on the Superman disc) make my Tag go completely insaine!!!!!

No one else here with the AV32R has bought Superman???

              Hello Daniel,

I picked up Superman last night and brought it into the office. I played the trailer and had no problem on the av32r. I'll look into this matter for you.

                Dan,
I haven't tried this disk yet. I'm also "still" waiting for my cable to upgrade to 3.2 from the 3.10.

                Mark,
Welcome to the forum! Very nice to have you here.

                    Hi Mark,

I thought maybe it could be something wrong with my copy of Superman until Supes II came this morning. I'm planning to re-connect everything, though the trailers on these discs are the only mono source I have tested that go so funny.

I'm not ovely bothered, them being the trailers and all, but just wanted to figure this out.

                    Thanks for the feedback everyone.

Whoaaaaa, damn it, YES, the mono Kubrick discs do the exact same thing!....also Warner DVDs I might add. I'm trying to think of some other pure 1 channel mono sources I have from other studios.... I tried Conan from Universal, but that's 2 channel mono and worked fine.

Son of a...... ANY of the supplements on Criterion's DVD of The Rock. All are 1 channel mono and guess what, digital break up in the audio... So, it's not warner DVDs then.

Again I am always using Region1 dvds here. I will be checking connections again to see if the fault is mine.

Set my DVD player to PCM output, TAG handles the mono sources fine. Connections seem fine, I've even tried connecting the DVD to alternate digital inputs, same problem when the player is set to Dolby Digital. I seriously think this is a possible error in v3.2 guys...

A TAG owner sporting problems of playback with his X-Men DVD on the Tag website forum caught my eye. I made mention of my porblem and low and behold, others mention it too with direct mono sources!
